"Puzzle action game" is secret code for Candy Crush rip off because apparently cell phone game developers don't know how to make any other type of game.

Actually, there's a number of Sailor Moon puzzle games for the SNES, some of which are similar to Candy Crush. Which, btw, wasn't the first of its style by a long shot, so calling anything a rip-off of it is misleading.

Well, either that or Puzzle & Dragons clones (sayyy... ), but yeah, Candy Crush is usually the first and last refuge of the marketer who wants a mobile game but can't think up any other ideas.
And ironically, most are technically BETTER than the insultingly amateurish and narcissistically arrogant CCS; in fact, Disney's Frozen Free Fall is probably the best made (non-monster) jewel game in the genre.
Although it's hardly a "first", since most of Sailor Moon's SNES games back in the original day were Tetris/Bejeweled style games, except for that one epic JRPG--
I remember playing the fan-translated .ROM for that one, and why that's never had a US version, console or mobile, is a tragedy.

Wasn't Bejeweled the first of that style game or does it go further back than that?
Looking forward to this, and hoping it'll be easy enough to get a Western release! Now all I need is to get out of the Stone Age and get myself a smart phone...
The SNES puzzle games were pretty fun, though I preferred the Beat 'Em Ups, such as the European arcade game Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon (awesome but was released unfinished in various aspects).

I think that Candy Crush type games bring in so much money, every smartphone app developer wants in on it too.
I was hoping it'd be a rhythm game though.

Looks cute. I thought this was the second game app though? Or was the previous app not actually a game? Hoping for it to be released in the West too~.
And maybe at some point, Bamco and Toei will announce a proper game. I wouldn't mind another RPG, more beat-em-ups or another cute, party-board game!

Crystal/manga based-characters/accessories were added to LINE Play sometime ago. And there's a mobile card type game based on Crystal (the game's name escapes me). I guess this counts since it's not a card game? Not sure myself!
