Yeah I am very happy to see more and more Japanese devs giving steam a chance. The only thing I am worried about with this is how good will the port be. For a game like this I don't need the craziest graphics options and what not. I would just like see to all the resolutions folks would want, a solid frame rate and maybe some AA. Time will tell hope it's turns out well.

Damn what a time to be alive. 5 years ago I would have never imagined the Tales of Series coming to PC.

Yes, Bandai Namco said that dual audio would be available.

Shame hte reviews are so poor for this one. Ignoring numbers, if you actually READ the reviews.... I'll get it just to support the idea of Tales on PC.

I'm guessing the Japanese are review bombing it cause of the whole "Alisha" controversy"? Cause other than that I've heard good things about Zestria.

I've read that she doesn't play as a big of a role as the might be implied by her presence in the promotional material, and that she makes no appearances about a third into the game. I don't know if that's true or not, but if it is, that's kinda great by itself; like Kojima Hideo's Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Razz Twisted Evil

Pretty much, it also doesn't help that Bandai Namco then released her side of the story as DLC.

Oh good. With the recent Ufotable announcement for adapting the series (heavily implied anyways), I'm interested in this game now. The game world fiction looks pretty interesting to say the least.

Well, at least it'll be cheaper. Glad to see that PC finally became respectable gaming platform as it used to be in the nineties.

Particularly for C-RPGs (computer RPG), the comeback gained steam last year:

http://www.pcgamer.com/2014-the-first-year-of-the-crpg-renaissance/

  • Asking a fan of the CRPG genre—that is, old-school computer RPGs—about when it reached its peak, you’ll likely get a large range of answers, from the late 80s up until the turn of the century. What you won’t hear is any year from, say, 2004 to 2013. While the genre has not died entirely over the past decade, it was kept alive on a sparse diet of shoestring-budget indie titles, and the very rare larger highlight, such as 2007’s Mask of the Betrayer.

All of this changed in 2014, and it’s not looking to stop any time soon. Even genre aficionados might have had trouble keeping up with the deluge of great games throughout the year—these are generally not short games—and it seems all but impossible for the casual fan. As such, I want to close out the year by providing a quick look at each of my personal highlights, and an even quicker overview of some other worthy candidates.
