Proves most people have no clue of what they're talking about.

This doesn't really have anything to do with who people think is the smartest of the bunch, but simply who is the most popular out of a bunch of people who are smart.
Yuki being outclassed by ordinary humans... it's just a popularity poll.

Well, he did win against L.
I wouldn't necessarily consider Keima all that smart. He was a genius at his games, certainly, but that is kind of a specialized "skill"

Yeah, that was 100% braininess and 0% magic powers
I'm not saying Light is not tremendously smart, but claiming he's smarter than L is ridiculous. If he hadn't had magical powers, the result would've most likely been completely different

I seem to always hate these lists. Where's Master Keaton?

Yeah anyone thinking L isn't smarter than Light is pretty delusional.
Heck I'd say it's apparent that L KNEW he was going to lose their battle but couldn't do anything about it (because of magic).

L's not intellectually smart, he's just a severe savant autist.

...Kuroko's Basketball is ridiculously overrepresented on this list. All of these characters are demonstrably intelligent, but not so much that they belong on a "brainiest of all time" list. (And if this is specifically limited to anime-only, then Akashi doesn't belong here at all - I don't think he's stupid at all, but he hasn't done enough in the anime yet to have earned a place here.)
...That being said, I love Kuroko's Basketball, but really...

Oh my God, THANK YOU. I was just about to type this exact same thing.
Keaton is practically Indiana Jones, Sherlock Holmes, and MacGyver all rolled into one. I used to make the joke that if Keaton had been the main character of Monster (another Naoki Urasawa series, by the way), he would've brought Johan to justice within four episodes.
In fact, speaking of Johan, why isn't HE on this list? He's easily one of the greatest criminal minds in anime/manga history.

The lack of Reinhard von Lohengramm or Yang Wenli saddens me...

Out of all the Attack On Titan characters, they think Armin is the smartest? That's ridiculous. If anyone in Attack On Titan is the brainiest, its Erwin. Every plan that guy comes up with has him coming out on top or benefiting the most no matter what the outcome is.
Where's Aizen? That guy had a plan for everything.
And what about Bulma? She's capable of building anything. Her intelligence is superhuman.
Also, L > Light Yagami (in intelligence). How people can think Light is smarter than L is beyond me. But granted Light is a genius in his own regard.

Yep. I was surprised that he was on the list here because I don't remember him doing anything especially intelligent in the anime. His main attribute in the anime so far is that he's a jerk.

I'm just saying it isn't absolutely clear who was more intelligent. Who knows how things would have gone under different circumstances. The fact remains that Light used the powers at his disposal masterfully. L was a much better character and I could easily see him being the victor, but to say he is clearly the smarter one is what I would consider delusional.
