Very bad move.
You don't give a child a cycle before he learns how to walk on his own.
WT is barely standing on its own feet. This is just rushing things.

As much as I hate to say this, I agree. Too early.

I've heard good things about this one, but woah, only soon-to-be-six volumes? Helloooo anime original ending. Or filler. Lots of filler.

Honestly, this is pretty unsurprising seeing as it survived its first year. Seems pretty typical. This should look pretty good animated.
All I can say is... if Nisekoi: False Love can get the anime treatment, this one definitely deserves one.

I'm more interested in the fact that this is the first manga that started out being translated into the US shonen jump to not only survive a year but get an adaptation. I'll have to read the manga to see if it's something I'll actually care about though.

Surviving a year is not a good enough reason. Soul Catcher(s) survived a year too.
Nisekoi's popularity was much higher than WTs. Nisekoi's volumes sold double of what WT's sell now before its anime began.
This is rushing the anime before the manga even reached its peak. They did the same thing with Beelzebub which ended up hurting the series more than helping it.

Way too early even for 24-episode adaptation, I guess 12-13 episodes should be a reasonable number considering the announcement time.
There are other candidates in WSJ who have more chapters to work with; dunno why the priority is given to World Trigger. It is a very promising work without a doubt, but they really should wait a bit longer before the source materials are enough.
Now the question is...which studio will handle this?

couldn't agree more. I think it's too rushed. A year survive cannot guarantee anything. For weekly serialized manga, the common interval between manga start and anime start is 3 years, especially in shonen manga which has slow pacing every chapter (you know;effects, jutsu, hissatsu waza,etc--they spend a lot of pages). Even manga which get anime adaptation in 3 years interval often run out of material in the middle (Gintama goes on hiatus, Naruto&Bleach do fillers).
I'm also wondering which studio would put its life onto making sufficient material for WT to be turned into anime...
This makes me think how neat Ace of Diamond adaptation was planned. haha

I have been reading World Trigger since it was first released and its a good series. An anime would do it well, it will look great. I do agree however that it is a tad too early for it. But by the time it is actually aired(assuming it will be an ongoing anime), the manga will be around 7-8 volumes. This is actually pretty typical of most shonen jump manga and no one should be surprised. I am pretty interested in seeing what the anime team come out with.
For those who haven't read World Trigger yet, you should like it if you like any typical battle manga. It really does remind me of Bleach in particular.

I was reading World Trigger for a while. I became busy with other things though and forgot about it so now I'm about 20 chapters behind.
I think it might be a bit too soon for it to have an anime but as long as there is little filler and no original ending then I'm interested!

Wow, this is...sudden. Hopefully the show will be somewhat more interesting, as the series itself is a constant drag, mostly due to some characters that end up looking the same and that it suffers from "Too-Many-Damn-Characters" Syndrome

I never will forget the utterly bitter expirience of watching that horrid abomination of an adaptation/animated production.
So long as it's not studio pirriot and not over 24 or 13 episodes I'd assume itd be fine, but I can only guess since I haven't read the material.

BLEACH: 14 volumes in the can before the anime premiered.
One Piece: 10.
Naruto: 13.
Yeah, this seems really soon. Plus, all those series were a lot bigger when they got their adaptations to boot. I guess it's a Black Cat/Medaka Box deal? Short 24-episode order?
