I've finished watching today The Gokusen which was airing on Starz Action and I have just a quick question.
Is Shinohara (The guy Yankumi has a serious crush on) spoiler[Shin Sawada's missing older brother?] I kind of got the feeling that he was due to the look he and Shin exchanged in the final episode and Shin's comment of "You're too late." Thanks in advance. |

for me it has something with that last words.. maybe he is saying something that i cant elaborate.. but for me..shin has a crux w/ kumiko |

No, I haven't read the manga, or even know if it goes past the anime, but I don't think it was his brother.
From what I gathered, Shin had a crush on Yankumi, and when he heard her say "You're so cute, Shinohara" in her sleep, and him (hara) showing up fashionably late, Shin got irked by it all and pulled out that good one liner. |

doesn't gokusen mean something? like, isnt it a word, not just a name? It sounds familiar from my days in japanese class. any japanese speakers? ahhh now its going to drive me crazy!

Well, all I get from it after watching the same episodes over and over and over again is that Shin like Yankumi. Yankumi likes that other dude..... I don't know.....

I'd say no. Gokusen (You putting "the" in front of it totally threw me off) is supposed to be a comedy/school type drama that's not seriously complex with relationships like you're conjecturing. It'd be weird to have that one connection out of the entire season like some kind of hidden-relationships-love/tragedy-drama. |

The ANN Encyclopedia lists it as The Gokusen...go figure. On "My Anime" it shows up in the "T's" not the "G's"
