After all this time? Finally? I hope HxH and Nana also returns soon too in the future. Great news nonetheless.

Nana is really improbably, like 90% that she doesn't return(but if she returns, than it will be a dream). The author herself told that probably she will never return to draw any more manga, do you see the severity of this claim. Is HUGE.
HxH is really more probable, but Togashi is Lazy as fudge and has is life all made up(money from works(YYH, HxH), wife works, wife is from rich family). He has it all. Let's see if he gets some inspiration soon.
Miura always was a different case, all of his schedule fails were reported by his magazine. The only strange thing was the reason why he was missing so much. One of them was reported as sickness, but the rest wasn't said. Later we were informed it was because of the new series that he was making(and not lazying around like someone we now), and that after the series he would return(He, Miura, even sent a message in the last chapter of the new series, that he wasn't ending Berserk and he would return soon).
P.S: Note that Miura didn't do Berserk for less than one year(but almost it), before news about Berserk return, and what he was doing.
Yasawa Ai, put Nana in hiatus and said that probably would never return to draw manga again in 2009(4-5 years ago).
Togashi hiatus started 2 years ago, without any explanation till today.

Miura took a break to scratch his balls and play Idolm@ster. Gigantomakhia came at the very end of that long period.
I've lost so much interest in Berserk by now... the last arc wasn't even that good.

Only franchise that I own pretty much everything of; all 37 volumes of the manga, TV series, movies, figmas, OSTs, etc.
Needless to say, I'm really looking forward to Miurasan's return and here's hoping we get at least a tankoban worth of chapters in 2014, so we can see Volume 38 by end of 2014 or early 2015.

Fantastic news, hopefully Miura will speed though as it seems like there's so much more to go and I worry he will end up not finishing the series.

Looks like Miura's taking a break from the Idolm@ster
Hopefully my trust in this series will be repaired after those many bloated fillers that plague the last 3rd or so of this manga

Filler? I didn't think it could be filler if it's part of the original content... It was more like padding

I suppose, either way it's rather grating. The entire Millenium Falcon arc should been way shorter and the pirates overstay there welcome, though their fate is quite funny

It doesn't mention how long this break from the hiatus may be. A chapter, two, possibly three if we're lucky?

We won't in North America. There's so much lead time with publishing, there's no way we'd get a new volume even into the first half of next year.

Taking bets. Will they:
A. Genuinely reach Elfheim within the next 3-4 chapters
B. Meet a new boss monster on the way and spend the chapters fighting that
C. Switch perspective to Griffith, Rickert, or some other more obscure character/s
D. Switch to a flashback fleshing out the backstory of the pirates, showing their tragic journey from childhood to their new career in piracy and, after numerous adventures, their eventual meeting with the protagonists?
I'm guessing C, though to be honest I really liked the recent flashback and wouldn't mind a few more like it.
