The two changes this year that made Neon Alley so much better was the move to PC and the Catch Up feature. So much more convenient.
The only thing I don't really like is how the quality always auto adjusts. I wish I could just set it to always play in HD.

If only the on-demand feature and PC streaming had been ready on Day 1 for this then I suspect that it would have been perceived differently. I know that I would have seen it in a light less negative as, had it these features from the get-go, it wouldn't have been utterly useless for me.

Quote: | This is the first time ever that Ranma ½ has been available in HD in English, and it looks spectacular, especially for a show that originally aired on Japanese TV in 1989. |
Hm, a long-running TV anime that started in 1989 and achieved popularity in the US in the days of VHS? I thought you had to crop shows like that to 16:9, over-saturate the colors, and DNR all the film grain and detail to death to make them palatable to modern audiences.

Interesting interview. If Neon Alley ever expands its availability to Roku, I'll be very interested. I have no idea why its so hard for them to make their channel work on all the standard hardware that Crunchyroll, for example, can use. Maybe its the linear aspect.
Adding J-pop vids is a cool idea, though. Even Crunchy doesn't have that.

My only 2 gripes with the service:
1. There is no way to turn subtitles on (yeah, I know, that's counterintuitive to watching it dubbed and whatnot, but it would be a nice feature to have).
2. The volume on the linear channel is way too low (the volume on the on-demand videos is considerably higher).
