Very pleasing. Continuation of the anime of the main series, especially with the end of the manga on its way?

A continuation of the main series wouldn't work. Most we can hope for is a new anime similar to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Personally, I'm interested to see where they take this series as only 2 volumes have been released so far. I'm hoping for a single cour series focusing more on the slice-of-life aspect of the series?

Ugh.

SON! always felt like the most pointless pandering in existence. "Hey, let's take this interesting manga and turn into a generic slice of life! And let's genderswap the characters too for no goddamn reason!"

That's exactly what I was thinking. Theres very little content for soul eater not! Its surprising we would see an anime unless they plan on another original ending.

I guess this is what Toshihiro Kawamoto was talking about when he said Bones was producing a "new version of a familiar title" last year.

I thought the same thing when I saw Omigawa Chiaki.

Nonetheless though, I guess this is good news for Soul Eater fans. Personally, I never got around to watching the first series, so I'll probably be sitting this one out too.

This is probably going to go the same route as Railgun, mostly following the manga with some original anime content added in.

Not! I mean, it's not that, it's not Soul Eater, it's Soul Eater Not! Soul Eater's been over for awhile and now we're on Not!

I never looked at Not! because I never saw the point of it while Soul Eater was being written and now with that one finished, I see an even less need for it. And now, Not's getting an anime.

Not, it's Not. Damn, I mean, no, it's not surprising as it's the best time to make a show as 1) there's the final volume of Soul Eater, 2) the return of Not! Not! and 3)the franchise isn't going to get anymore popular than it is now.

Why not Soul Eater? ... because it's easier to do this in thirteen episodes of a SoL offshoot than do the twenty plus episodes, plus a redo, of the multihero flagship series? No risk, little additional creative work necessary {tailor made for Bones} but it can still bank on the original series for name recognition {Yeah, Not!? You not fooling anyone with that one...}. It's a win for everyone ... except fans of the original series.

True enough. though the anime was decent enough , the manga of soul eater is more interesting. it would have been better if they made a new soul eater anime and do ala FMA Brotherhood.

Though i am at least glad that Soul Eater NOT is finally getting an anime series.

I'll watch it for Chiaki, she's always needed more lead roles since Hanasaku Iroha ended.

Would it be more creative to redo a perfectly fine anime just because "it didn't cover all of the manga?"

I say, "No. No it would not."
