-Just for how he does so much different genres so greatly, and his
detective stories with a gothic twist

-HXH and YuYu are quite cool

-everyone knows him, and rightfully so(though sometimes I feel he's overrated :p)

Takahashi and Akamatsu.
Love Hina as a manga is superb. He has a new one as well that is shaping up great.
Takahashi, is the manga godess. Ranma, beyond what is available in the US is a great work, as is Inu Yasha once it gets dark.
I have also become a fan of Hikaru no Go. Heck I play it now too.

Gonna have to go with Rumiko Takahashi and Kia Asamiya. I really like Ranma, Inu Yasha (RT) and Steam Detectives (KA). There are others I'm sure but I can't think of them off the top of my head.
Oh yeah, Ken Akamatsu (Love Hina) seems to have some potential.

CLAMP - Magic Knight Rayearth, Wish, Chobits, Angelic Layer.
