Ehh. I expected this, but I think there were better animes that AS could have picked up for the old Fullmetal Alchemist timeslot. I wonder if making it available for streaming download before it airs will have an effect on ratings.

They're looking into that with the stats and data from The Fix. They even said that they were going to start using the data from the fix mixed with the Neilson ratings to determine the programming schedule.

Oh really? Cool. It's funny seeing both of you here and not at the AS forums.

This was really a backa##wards way of telling the world they acquired this show. If you got it, flaunt it. Build up anticipation. Market and promote. (Oh, right, I keep forgetting that they keep forgetting you gotta promote anime to get viewers.) (^_*)

I don't think it's really that AS doesn't want to show the intros, or doesn't "keep" them. Anime programs generally run a bit longer than our shows, so to keep all of the timing right, and commercial breaks long enough, they have to trim down the intros and endings.

This will be an excellent addition to the lineup which in my opinion has been faltering since that stupid stupid stupid show boondocks got on the air. Big props to AS.

Heh, I'm everywhere...like Xrist. |
I think he was saying that to Milarkie, h3br3w (may be wrong, of course) (recognize me? heh)
Anyway, I hear good things, so I look forward to it. |
Actually, I meant to say its funny seeing both of them here. And, of course, you too Maenos. I'm ssblade16 at the AS forums, and I used to go there all the time, but I have stopped going there recently (*shrug* don't really know why).

Your opinion, certainly, and I have my own "issues" with the show myself that I'm not going to go into here, but something like at least 1.5 million viewers, which is pretty freakin' huge by AS standards (like usually more than three times the people who tune in to the better-rated anime on AS), would disagree with you there.

AS took down the E-7 online premiere notice around noon today (3/27). It appears somebody goofed and let a cat out of the bag ahead of this week's upfronts. Took some of the wind out of the AS sails, it did.
Anyway, I think they went for E-7 because it appears to blend the appeal of FLCL and the early Inuyasha blocks into one show. While it appears targeted to HS-agers, it also looks like it will have elements appealing to the young adult demo. It could become the next big AS anime ratings hit. My guess is they're hoping so. Well, I guess something has to fill the FMA slot and it may as well be this.
Hopefully, this won't be as mind-numbing as s-cry-ed was.

Great, yet another mecha anime.
Why didn't they use the money it took to license that show to make more Perfect Hair Forever and/or Stroker and Hoop? I really liked those shows and wish that they would make some more.
