It's painfully obvious when we see the side-by-side comparisons, but I think that whoever caught this has a very sharp eye and extensive knowledge of manga. I mean, there are literally hundreds of published manga that one would have to sift through today to blindly locate plagiarism of this kind; whoever found this must have known what he was looking at instantly.
Makes you wonder how many other works do pass by the radar, undetected. |

Read this Topic first. It's not just the art, but the concept of the story. Also the style is similar too. You can also see the style of the art is a cheap imitation of Hiroaki Samura's art. Hiroaki's art is very stylistic because he use a line drawing style and he's one of the well known influential manga in Japan so it's not like there's a lot of mangaka that used that style. |

That's interesting how similar they are. I'm not sure if I would go so far as to say (to my eyes) that Samura's style is distinctive, (CLAMP or Koge Donbo's styles, on the other hand, would really stand out like sore thumbs for me), but I've never read any of Blade of the Immortal, and I'll take your word for it that anybody familiar with Hiroaki Samura's work would see this from a mile away.

Ouch. TP's got to catch these things. The plagiarized versions definitely weren't drawn as well. The copycat scene of the woman paled in comparison to the original. Actually, I think it might've paled by itself.

I can understand "adopting" from other stories/plotlines, but blatantly copying actual frames from another manga? Why do they do it?

What's this about TenTen plagarism? I haven't heard anything about that. And I really didn't care much for the RSoM contest, mostly because it was TP grasping for manga since Del-Ray is kicking their ass now and getting the hot new titles. At least that's how I see it. |

That's the problem though, you haven't check out the manga.
A simple art below of Blade of the Immortal. Notice the heavy use of the "line" techinque? 
If the picture was bigger, you can easily see hundreds of lines. It give the art a kinetic feel that isn't so prevalent in manga. If there's many manga that used this techique and use it well, I would really like to check it out. 
This is one of Koge donbe's image and you can literally imagine many anime and manga that use a similar style. If I just saw that image and not familar with the title, it would be hard for me to tell who it was done by him. The only thing I've heard about TenTen and plagiarism is that Ikki Tousen/Battle Vixens seems to have copied some frames from TenTen. The stories weren't alike at all aside from taking place at a high school with lots of fighters though. At least not that I know of. |
