I've only seen the first episode as well, but DAMN, it's hella better than the crappy OAV that came out a while back
Anyway, I think it's working in a nice direction (... judging from one episode... >_> ) It seems that BAKI is very conflicted to be his father's equal... I wonder how it goes? He seems very hesitant to follow the basic training given to him since he thinks that he won't get stronger if he does all that tedious crap... But I think that they're getting at... you know, it takes PATIENCE to become strong! I liked it. (I should go and see the second episode soon) |

I've only seen said "crappy OVA" myself, when it aired on the Action Channel. It doesn't make me want to go out and buy the series at all really. It was pretty shallow in terms of story and characters, the TV series would have to be much better for me to consider picking it up.
