For those of you that have seen this series, is it any good? How does it compare to Samurai Champloo?

I collect the manga, and I've seen the anime. I'd have to say the manga's much better. The story has a lot of plot twists and surprises, plus some good fights; so I really like it. Compared to Samurai Champloo; Kyo is more of a historical fantasy story than an adventure/comedy type that Champloo is. Kyo has a lot of fantasy elements such as demons, inhuman abilities etc... I wouldn't really suggest the anime because it tries to condense the story into 26 eps so it kinda feels rushed, but the manga's really good.

I would have to say that I liked Samurai Champloo better. Samurai Deeper Kyo feels way too condensed. I like the characters in Champloo better because Mugen is freaking awesome. Don't get me wrong I like Samurai Deeper Kyo and suggest that you watch it. I just don't think its better than Samurai Champloo.

From what I have seen so far, I like Samurai Deeper Kyo better. But I haven't seen the whole series of Samurai Champloo, so it's hard to say. Anywys, I would recommend you watching Samurai Deeper Kyo 100%.

I'm only half way through both Samurai Deeper Kyo and Samurai Champloo. I like both of these series, but for different reasons.
I agree with the poster above that stated that SDK feels "rushed." The plot moves far too quickly, and it certainly feels condensed. I have heard from numerous other fans that the SDK manga is far superior to the SDK anime. Nevertheless, I would say that SDK the anime is worth a look. If you enjoy historical fantasies...you'll enjoy SDK.
PS-the English dub on the SDK series is pretty horrendous (and I'm not a sub snob at all).

samurai deeper kyo does feel rushed but rushed in this case equals more action. instead of those 20 episode fights that really only have like 10 minutes of action samurai deeper kyo has many interesting fights that dont overwhelm the viewer. samurai champloo is a good series as well but cartoon network is airing it so why bother. i havnt seen all of champloo either it is a good series but id have to say i liked samurai deeper kyo a whole lot more.
