I could only imagine it has to do with a company on the Japanese side of things. What other reason would there before that huge of a delay, especially after announcing a date not too long ago.
Either that or they have something bigger planned, but I doubt that is the reason why. |

I would totally post a rage face on here if I could. But again it's probably red tape or something like that holding it up.

Its possible toonami could have picked it up. Thundercats ends it run Sunday March 31st. i don't believe it's going to be replayed so something new should take its place the following Sunday, May 7th. 23 weeks later is September 8th, 2 days before the shows goes on sale.

Could their wanting to spend more time on a dub be a possibility?

It better not be a Bandai type of situation.

I really love how people STILL come out and firstly blame Funimation after all the blu ray trouble the Japanese companies have given them and in turn the fans. Funimation honestly cant do anything to win with such a stubborn, fickle, childish fan base. If they release just a dvd set, then the fans complain because a blu ray will be coming later, but if they delay and wait to do both, then they complain because they have to wait. It's utterly ridiculous and childish. I'm tired of the negativity of anime fandom in general. Wait 5 months to pick it up. I guarantee most of you have huge backlogs anyways. |

Pretty much this. Every time I hear about an issue with an anime or game even being localized, it's some issue coming from the Japanese side of things. The North American market isn't exactly big, it's not like they WANT people to wait and then lose out on possible profits they could be getting... |

You left out "TLDR syndrome". A favorite excuse they use for what has been explained many times before. Last edited by tuxedocat on Wed Feb 20, 2013 4:36 am; edited 1 time in total |

As far as I know Magical Index was not delayed for over two years because of issues with the Japanese company. Funimation has a history of delayed releases that Sentai /ADV never really had or that others had. So its a mass conspiracy by Japan to only delay shows released by Funi, eh?

Index was delayed because of the Geneon and Universal merger. We know Japan has an issue with reverse importation so maybe this delay is a result or it could be a result some issue with rights. |

In fact it was, as were all titles from Geneon Universal. It is rather difficult for a company to produce a localized version of shows when the originals have not been delivered to them by the Japanese company. |

D: That's too bad; I was looking forward to hearing Dio's new voice.
