Aside from Hetalia and Maid-Sama, is there anything else by TOKYOPOP that is worth something from that company?

It was very good of God to let Carlyle and Mrs Carlyle marry one another, and so make only two people miserable and not four.

Well, for me, Aria, Gakuen Alice, D.N.Angel, Gundam: Ecole du Ciel (I hope), Karakuri Odette... Hm, wow, besides my extensive backlog, there really isn't much from TokyoPop I look forward to nowadays... |

Looks like more problems for Borders Books I hope that it can get it's problems solved soon as I said last time I hope Borders pulls thru it's crisis so it can get on with business and lose anyother book distribiters and publishers.

Nooooo... So that means no Hetalia in Borders for awhile? And I think TokyoPop has Deadman Wonderland too so I'm pretty upset about this..
I'd rather buy these two at Borders, but it looks like I have no choice, but to get them at Barnes & Nobles now |

Tokyopop's agreement with Diamond Comics does not start until July 1. Hopefully, Diamond will be delivering books to Borders again long before July. |

They do Alice in the Country of Hearts, which is almost over with only one more volume.
But, I've heard rumors that they plan to do the Alice in the Country of Clovers spin-off so this suck for me, as I buy 99% of my manga at my local Walden Books(Borders owned store). |

I buy mine online, and for cheaper prices. RightStuf and Amazon are very good alternatives, imo. |

Bleh looks like I'll have to order Future Diary and Ratman online now what a pain! It was nice to be able to support the local bookstore even if it was a buck higher.

Did I miss the announcement where Diamond lowered their stop-stock threshholds? Otherwise this sounds like it might lead to a rather short ride.

I'd say that Tokypop still has several titles which have not yet been fully released which are worth picking up. However, a number of them have been delayed so long between releases that it's not even clear whether they're still releasing the title. For instance, the last volume of D.N.Angel to be released was released in December of 2009. Has it been dropped? I really don't know. Other titles - such as Moon Phase - have even longer delays. Who knows if we'll ever see more volumes from thos series. RightStuf is currenty having a sale on Tokypop items, and so of course, I went and pre-ordered everything from Tokypop that I'm interested in, but I found that very few of their titles which I've been buying have release dates listed for future volumes - including several which have had releases in the last year. Maid-Sama seems to be one of the few titles from Tokypop that's actually getting semi-frequent releases. Most of their titles (at least that I've been interested in) have either been outright dropped or have their releases spaced out so far that you can't tell whether they've been dropped or not. On a bright note, however, the 4th Full Metal Panic novel is about to come out, so the fact that a new volume for one of their titles has been delayed for ridiculously long doesn't guarantee that we won't see it. Still, after losing so many of their titles and seriously curtailing their releases, I've kept expecting to hear that Tokypop was going out of business. Hopefully, they'll stick around, and I don't necessarily mind when they pick up a license instead of someone else (they're doing just fine with Maid-Sama, for instance), but they don't appear to be a company that you can count on to finish their titles. |

That policy only applies to Diamond's direct market (i.e. comic shop) distribution - Diamond Book Distributors is a seperate company under the same ownership that deals with the book shop trade and doesn't have the same policies as its sister company. |
