What a lucky young man he was. He would probably remember this...forever...

She came out of AKB48? There is absolutely no way those are real.

Um…WHAT?!
I'm not quite sure that picture would fly in any country, but it is sort of priceless for all the wrong reasons. For one, she has that "what the heck am I doing?" look on her face. Two, one might've thought "Mr. Lucky" would've been unreasonably giddy, but he looks rather chill about it, like it's no big deal and just another photoshoot. And finally, it just doesn't make any sense! It's a ridiculous photo that would've been better served as a joke cover for some comedy or parody album she was doing than a new career kickstarter. It the got attention, alright, but not the kind they were probably hoping for.
Not only that, but based on some other pictures of her, it looks like she was just concealing them during her time with the group. That, and some other shoots she's done don't look all that innocent, either (or "fake-looking" in other aspects). |

If you follow gravure idols at all, you'd realize it actually would be just another photoshoot. There's gravure idol picturebooks/DVDs for kids as young as 5 years old or so, so yeah, probably just another day for him if he's a regular child model in Japan or something. |

Anyone know who that kid is? I'd like to go up to him personally and give him a high-five for being the luckiest kid on Earth.

I looked at the picture and came to the conclusion that the individuals in charge of making the photobook most likely set up the picture with the intention of it being a "cute" way for Kasai-san's nipples to be covered (it's been done before in other photobooks through the use of other objects, albeit non-child (ie: flowers, magic seals, etc.). However, on the other hand, I can understand how this can be seen as inappropriate (even when taking into account the usual content of the magazine) and over the line (it's a child 0_o!). At the end of the day, their decision to pull the photo was probably a good one.

Granted that the purpose of the article isn't meant to spotlight the discussion upon the kid being there in the ad, and rather the appropriateness of the ad itself in its magazine format, but as a nebulously related side tangent:
-Child, aged 0-4, sees breasts of mother: No one cares -Child, aged 5-17, sees breasts in media: THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END THAT KID WILL GROW UP TO BE A MENTALLY UNSTABLE SERIAL KILLER OH WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?! Humans, man. I swear. |
