Forget about Babelfish. It relies heavily on the existing grammatical structure and on literal translations, and Japanese simply doesn't work well in "the fish". Names are translated by "meaning" and the implicit grammatical structure in Japanese creates hilariously weird translations.
The result? Think of it as the worst Engrish you ever saw, and then some. It's useless. If you want to translate Japanese, either learn the language or ask someone who already knows it. - abunai |

Not so fast abunai.
I know for a fact that there is or was a program on the net (other than babelfish) which specialized in translating japanese pages into english. But for the life of me I cant remember what the name of it was... I read about it in a polish manga magazine.. oh well i am going home for the long weekend so I will try to look for it. |
