The hoodies sell for 14,700 yen (about US$188) at CAPCOM's online shop.

W-what? Close to $200 for a hoodie? And it costs as much as that soundtrack collection, as well. The asking prices for these are seriously way too high considering how Capcom treats Mega Man.

Meanwhile, a "kick me" sign and a bit of scotch tape costs a few cents. For likely the same effect. Confused

(Seriously, though, the 8-year-old me would have loved this. If {mega, rock}man had existed back then.)

Nearly 200 bucks just to look like a special needs child.

Oh Japan.

$200 just for a hoddie and a "hidden" Mega Buster arm? I've seen professionally tailored suites that cost less than that.

Truly what is the point in spending that much money for a hoddie that in my opinion isn't worth $100, let alone nearly $200. As a hidden mega buster arm really has limited functions and I honestly can't imagine anyone who could afford this such as probably the adult audience (18-35 likely) wearing this in public.

Oh Japan, you are certainly full of ideas, some just aren't that realistically functional though.

Minimum wage in Japan is ¥618(higher in some places). That works out to just under twenty-three hours of pretax wages. Somehow I think most of the people who'd be interested make a bit more than that.

I assume it's $200 because the Yen is a stronger currency than the Dollar and not because Capcom and the clothing company think consumers are damn fools.

Yeah, JP clothing is generally expensive, especially when it has franchises. The only exceptions are like uniqlo and mall clothes.

The dollar's fall only explains about $50 of that price. It's just hideously expensive.

Well, at least it works well in Japan. Try wearing that here and you'll get shot by the cops for possession of a deadly weapon.

Okay we all know that Japanese clothing, especially franchise-related, are very expensive.

It made me wonder where those clothes are made and how many are produced. Does anyone owns anime clothing from Japan?

BTW, I still want to Eva street art t-shirt ever since I've seen one at Eva Pop museum in SF.

I own a bunch of COSPA t-shirts that retail for 3045 yen and they are pretty high quality.

When you say high quality, fabric doesn't fade after several washes and the print remains sharp, right?

I've seen anime t-shirts printed in the US and a lot of them screams "ghetto print and boring design" than "cool and subtle".

All these cloth talks make me remember Sket Dance #67...
