Yay! (if you can't tell, I'm not a fan)
I was going through the schedules at Cartoonnetwork.com and noticed Yugioh doesn't have any listings after this week! Strange thing is Pokemon is still there, wonder why they would get rid of one and not the other? (I am a Pokemon fan however)
Just thought I'd share.

That's a little disappointing. I can't say I enjoyed watching YGH.. but I can sorta see why it's popular with little kids.
How many eps of YGH have broadcast in America? Might that have something to do with it?
OTOH, Pokemon's over 200 eps long.. they could be broadcasting it for the next year and still not reach the latest episodes (if you account for holiday breaks and such)

I honestly don't think I could guess why they would drop it unless it has something to do with WB's ratings. I know they've shown 25 eps of Yugioh in the US starting with season 2, I think they've started showing Season 3 which would be 21 eps acording to Pojo.com's guide. While I'm not a fan, I did sorta force myself to watch the second season, or most of it anyway, but I'm not sure how accurate Pojo is since they're relying on other people to do their summaries. The popularity is deffinatly there though, I've got the flames to prove it. I'm sure there's more to it going off than poor ratings.

It might have to do with the fact that they've run out of episodes of the first season. The first season ended just before Kaiba's battle with Pegasus. They've started over and now, I guess they've taken it off the schedule. Or maybe it's 'cause of the whole New Year's thing. They didn't have Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokémon at all the week before Christmas 'cause of all the Christmas specials.
In any case, they just finished the big Pegasus duel story arc for the second time on KidsWB just a couple weeks ago. It makes sense not to steal that away and put it on Cartoon Network again just after it's been rebroadcast.
The whole Indigo league story arc is several episodes and so they'll have a whole lot of Pokémon to show on CN for a while. And even then, they really only show it four days a week so it'll take a little longer. They haven't even gotten to the Exeggutor episode yet. They've got a loooong ways.

That makes the most sence, though that's never stopped CN before. How many times have they been through Cowboy Bebop or G Gundam? But that's probably it. I'm quite surprised they haven't shown Jacki Chan Adventures yet.

Well, the difference between Yu-Gi-Oh and Cowboy Bebop is that a)They're completely different audiences, and b)Yu-Gi-Oh is a series that is still running and has more episodes whereas Cowboy Bebop is only ever going to be 26 episodes. I'm sure if WB gives the word, they'll let CN run more Yu-Gi-Oh, after they've played the hell out of it on weekdays and Saturday mornings.
Oh and to answer your question, CB is probably in it's fifth rebroadcast, and G Gundam is only in its second. It's really quite long. I believe it's the magic 52-episodes. They're getting sorta close to the end again.

Yeah, I know they're different audiences which kinda ads to the confusion. Kids are morel likely to be able to sit through Yugioh 5 times over than adults are to watching Cowboy Bebop over and over again. And I realize Yugioh is still running in japan which also ads to the confusion because CN is the type of channel that likes to keep things fresh in kids minds and will keep showing a series over and over again until the next season starts just to do the same thing with the new season. Case in point, Dragonball Z.

49 actually and looking at the schedules they show no signs of stoping either. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they end with 4 showings.

Well, I haven't seen the anime but I've read the manga in US Shonen Jump. The manga is good but I'm sure they butchered the hell out of the dub of the anime. I haven't bothered watching it and I'm sure that if I do I'll start to hate the manga.

Well, the voices in the dub are horrible but the anime itself is pretty cool. Although, I would rather watch PKMN then Yu-Gi-Oh! especially after listening to the English Dub soundtrack of Yu-Gi-Oh! >.>

I just tune out the music (i.e. I tape the show at fast-forward through it). Aside from that, I like the show. I think it's awfully hilarious that Yugi suddenly has this super-deep manly voice when the pharaoh spirit wakes up. It always cracks me up.
On the subject of dubbing, I think newer dubs are way better these days. This is compared to... say... the failed dub of Urusei Yatsura and other AnimEigo dubs. Those days are well beyond us IMO.
