Last year "Tenchi Muyo! GXP" finished its run of 26 episodes, and had a 'very interesting' ending. Hehehehe. Well, its IS a Kajishima Masaki show after all.

Anyway, I heard through the grapevine at #WASHU# (Washu's Academy of Science and Higher Understanding) http://www.capcorphq.com/WASHU.html that Funimation picked up the rights to release it here in the US. The series is already out on DVD in Japan. I was wondering if anyone can confirm this since Funimation has nothing about it on their website.

Also, I read an article at AIC's english site that "Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki" OAV #3 has gone into production as of last year. I hope to see fansubs when it finally comes out.

Yes, FUNimation has the rights to GXP, and probably paid quite a bit for it, considering everything else Tenchi is under Pioneer's umbrella.

I really hope that the OAV live up to the original series, since Tenchi in Tokyo really sucked and made me loose much hope for the future of Tenchi Muyo. As one of biggest fans of OAV series, I would really hate to have to travel to Japan on a sour note due to bad storyline of one of my favorite shows. Only Tenchi of Otakon fame is more so, but I not crazy like him 8O Just kidding Tenchi if you read this.

Last report I had read (which was way back when the new OAV series and GXP were announced) said that the new OAV series would be based on the original OAV series continuing the story of the goddesses.
