Anime Series 'Tougen Anki' Set for July 2025

TOKYO, JAPAN - Jan 7, 2025 - REMOW Co.,LTD.is pleased to reveal the TV anime adaptation of "TOUGEN ANKI" is officially set to begin airing in July 2025. Alongside this announcement, a new key visual and trailer have been released, plus new cast and select staff details have been revealed.

Originally created by Yura Urushibara, the manga debuted in 2020 in AKITASHOTEN's Weekly Shōnen Champion. Drawing on the well-known Japanese folktale of "Momotaro," the series depicts a conflict between those with Oni(demon) blood and those with Momotaro blood. With over 3 million copies in print, the franchise launched the "TOUGEN ANKI Project" in June 2023. After announcing the anime adaptation in May 2024 as the project's second phase, excitement continues to build.

First Key Visual:
The newly unveiled key visual features main characters Shiki Ichinose, Jin Kougasaki, and Naito Mudano unleashing their Oni powers known as "Blood Eclipse Release." The striking contrast of red “Oni blood” against a teal night sky illuminated by a full moon creates a dark hero vibe.

The new trailer spotlights these classmates, giving viewers a first taste of their character voices.

Staff Update:
Staff information has also been revealed. The series will be directed by Ato Nonaka, with animation produced by Studio Hibari.

■Synopsis
"You inherit the blood of an Oni (demon)..."

The bloodlines of "Oni" and "Momotaro" have been passed down among certain humans for generations. Long ago, the Oni, aware of their own ferocity, lived in seclusion. However, their peace was shattered by an invasion led by Momotaro. Over thousands of years, these two factions formed the "Momotaro Agency" and the "Oni Agency," respectively, and have been locked in conflict ever since.

The protagonist, Shiki Ichinose, suddenly learns of his Oni lineage following an unexpected attack by Momotaro. This revelation sets Shiki on a path to discover the destiny that lies within his blood — a meeting with the Oni dwelling within him.
