I plan on attending the Victory Plaza event in Dallas. It should be nice if the weather warms up. The outdoor screen is pretty cool and should prove to be a good venue for the movie.

But... no... why not Seattle? We have a long tradition of giving small films love...

THey've been getting it for some time. Otakorp (Otakon's parent corp) has sponsored a yearly anime marathon in conjunction with the Smithsonian's Freer Gallery at the National Cherry Blossom Festival for something like five or six years now. |

AH AH AH! They've had a good two months now, Funimation EASILY could've put together a dub for a MOVIE by then. Maybe not an entire series but a movie? Definitely. And if it is a dub, I am crossing my fingers they nabbed Spike Spencer to reprise his role as Shinji. That would just make my day. |

I'm in for this one, no doubt. I do wish that the showing was one week later, as I had already planned a trip to DC on April 4th. C'est la vie, I guess...

But the R2 DVD version is 1.01. This is prob an English subtitled version. Rebuild of EVA movie 1 has 3 different R2 versions now, 1.0 (original theatrical version), 1.01 (DVD version) and 1.11 (Blu-ray version). |

Hm - I had been planning to see the two films by Nagisa Oshima on March 28 at the National Gallery in DC ('the Catch' and 'Shiro Amakusa, the Christian Rebel') but 'Eva: 1.0' and 'Vexille' are tempting.

*snaps fingers all clever like as if to say 'darn'*
Ah well, doesn't matter. Still, let's hope Funimation doesn't slack off and give the public DVD release no dub. Still, I'm looking forward to the movie. |

Yeah, but aside from that I've often heard of films premiering or showing in a bunch of cities that are not DC. So aside from the Cherry Blossom festival, and other Smithsonian events that randomly pop up, I would say that, for whatever reason, we don't get many anime films. Not that I always have my finger to the pulse of anime showings, but when Evangelion 1.0 was first making rounds in the states I don't recall DC being on the list. |

This kind of makes me sad. I mean, seeing as I live in the middle of the US, I get nothing. No screenings, no nightly releases. ~sighs~
