Bastard!! Volume 27 debuts at #3 after about 2 years of no tankoubans... And yet there still isn't an anime reboot of this series?
Where is the justice in this world? |

150,000 copies really is not that much. It just happened to be that there were no overly popular titles that went on sale this week too. There were no volumes of Hunter x Hunter for nearly two years as well, but it came back selling nearly 700,000 copies. It will take that to get a reboot. |

150k in the first week is bestseller territory; Fairy Tail 31 did 170k in its first week, and it has far more going for it. Comparing it to an all-time chart topper is taking a pretty narrow perspective.
Bastard!! is so old at this point I wonder if there's anything that could be done to get a reboot. It's lifetime sales are really good, yet there's no real indication that anyone wants to go for it. |

Just comparing it to other Jump titles, since it is (or I suppose was) in Weekly Shonen Jump. It's not easy for something like this to get an anime in the current generation. Bastard fit well with the 90s, but they're gone now. Even other Jump titles, which sell better than Bastard too, have had their anime dropped over the past few years (Bleach, Gintama, Beelzebub, Reborn etc.). Totally not likely. |
