I still have my Pioneer sets, so I'm good. At least people will be able to get it again for a fraction of the $200 per set I paid back in 2001.

I can't wait! :D
I wanted this series so bad growing up but could not get it because it was so damn expensive.

I got the singles for $4 each during a TRSI 25-for-$100 sale in 2009 so I'm good. Hope they make some money off it though. Maybe if they have remastered video or something to draw people in. Was this show ever remastered in Japan?

Well, of course they are. After all, I just dropped $175 on the OOP sets less than two weeks ago.
I swear if I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all.

I have this on VHS, the original god awful expensive box sets from Geneon, and the DVD singles from Geneon, so I will not be quadruple dipping on this.
I am glad that someone is re-releasing this for newer fans who like older shojo. Wonder if they just have the TV series or if they have the Oni and Eikoden OVA's as well.

If they are working with a remastered video I would definitely buy this one again. FY and Nadesico were two of my early favorites, Nozomi's delivering the first, I hope Media Blasters can put out a really slick set.

If it makes you feel any better, you didn't pay much more than what they were selling for new. I distinctly recall as I was ordering the singles from the bargain bin TRSI was still selling the box sets for some huge price, like $80-90 apiece.

I didn't even know it was licensed rescued! Yeah, my Pioneer sets are still on the shelf. I remember paying quite the amount to get both seasons + movie (the OVA set I believe was still available on TRSI at the time, so that was the only new one). Still, good news for people who never did get to pick it up! It's a great series!

Can't wait to nab this. I've heard lots of good things about the series for a long time, and having read the first 9 volumes of the manga via the VizBig release, I have to say I'm liking it quite a bit. Not a favorite but it's quality.
How good is the dub though? I'm honestly no that picky but the few clips I've heard were a bit...weeellll...

Holy shite.
I don't even care greatly for the series anymore (I prefer Watase's Genbu Kaiden), but I still think I'll buy this. It's such a nostalgia classic. Now all I need is Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura to complete the shoujo nostalgia fest.
I really hope this works out for you, MB. I'll do my best to support!

I saw 11 episodes of the show back in 2005. Been wanting to watch the rest so I'll definitely grab this.

I have the first 26-episode set which cost me north of $300 Canadian to import at the time including the exchange rate (which was in the 65-70 cent US range back in early 2000 and Canada Post's tax and "handling" fee) and I never could justify to myself getting the second half of the TV series.
Maybe I'll finally get to finish it... a decade after I stopped caring about Fushigi Yuugi!
