How many times have they turned Japanese historical figures into chicks? I've lost count now. Not sure which is higher, the Romance of the Three Kingdoms genderswapping or the Japanese histoical figures gender swapping.

Either way. I'm sure that handful of fans that were just dying to see this social networking game turned into an anime are elated that they'll be able to stream it on Crunchyroll.

Why are we subjected to crap like this, when one of the best shows about the Sengoku period ever made, Hyouge Mono, is totally overlooked?

Oh, right, it has a lot of cute girls. Excuse me for wanting to see something a bit more intelligent.

I can't argue against anyone who points out that this is an extremely derivative idea. I can, however, actually watch the show, which I will. Very Happy

Let's make something based off of the most ruthless historical figures. Oh wait, let's make them sexy girls to appeal to all the ronery otaku! Genius, I tell you! Pure artistic genius! It'll be a masterpiece! Rolling Eyes

Edit: Before anybody asks, I'd make the same complaint if they tried to do the reverse: say make all the shintou priestesses at a shrine male. Or turn the Tales of Genji into some sort of all-male BL story.

Edit2:

Cards? Another card game (albeit virtual)? Are you kidding? Yeah, no thanks.

Because its international licensor agreed to license it to Crunchyroll, and Hyouge Mono's international licensor did not.

We know that Crunchyroll expressed an interest in Hyouge Mono, because they express an interest in every thing that is broadcast, every season.

Figured CR would get this. Being produced by Brain's Base and all. I'll probably give it a try simply because of the studio attached to the project, probably won't be watching beyond the first episode though.

Do you know this for a fact, or are you arguing from the premise that they "express an interest in everything that is broadcast?" Do you know for certain that Crunchy specifically tried to license Hyouge Mono?

They've stated in the past they make a bid for every anime. Some people do take this to think they make a COMPETITIVE bid for everything, which probably isn't true... though I can't imagine Hyouge Mono would take much money to license. The studio probably just wasn't interested.
