Any of the really crazy, whacked-out Japanese singers. There's Yoko Ono, Yasuko (Melt-Banana), and Yamatsuka eYe (Boredoms, Naked City).
I also really dig shibuya-kei (Pizzicato Five, Cornelius, Buffalo Daughter, etc). Best pop music scene since the height of motown. |

Dude, the Boredoms! I haven't heard about them for a LONG time. I remember always getting them confused with Failure, though I haven't an inkling why. |

I don't know if people have just forgot them or if no one likes them, but it's also a great group "Asian Kung-Fu Generation". Oh! And by the way, in this month's Animerica there's a report about them

Does anyone like Tak Matsumoto Group?
The words are in English, sung by Eric Martin. Their songs have a very B'z feel. No wonder, since Matsumoto is writing them. You can sample some of their songs here: http://www.bz-vermillion.com/tmg/top/index.html (go to Discography) I like their song, OH JAPAN~OUR TIME IS NOW~ ![]() |

Ayumi Hamasaki and Do As Infinity have been playing in heavy rotation with me but I have always been very fond of Hitomi Yaida's stuff; her fans call her Yaiko. Especialy her older songs. I haven't heard the new CD she put out this summer but for me she can't do wrong. Also Kotoko has some pretty catchy songs, although most are from her Onegai Teacher and Onegai twins soundtracks. So much music, so little money...

Usually japanese soundtracks aren't so expensive. I mean, it's cheaper than a National great hit (and USA must be full of them...) |

Well, other options are also available. I also really love listening to radios where they put anime & japanese music 24 h. a day. That may look something difficult, but most audio computer programs can do that

The CD's that I was getting were about $30.00 each at the import store I was going to at the time. It has been a while since I've been there though, so maybe they're cheaper now. Or, maybay I should just order more online

Yes! My favorites of his are Final Fantasys VI and VII. But my favorite RPG soundtracks are from Genso Suikodens 1 and 2. Well, that or Yasunori Mitsuda's Chrono Cross. ![]() |
