I don't like Funimation (censorship racketerrs) or ADV (too many volumes on anime DVDs or too slow releases on manga + too much cultural censorship). I'd prefer Geneon to get hold of titles like Speed Grapher.

FUNimation dont "censor" titles any more (sheesh, the DBZ days where agggges ago) and ADV have only done this many volumes experiment once (Gantz) which may not of been a sucess

That Alchemist dub is truly pathetic.

Well, i cant really comment since i haven't seen it yet, but that goes totally against the genral opinion on the net.

And let's add the fact that Blue Gender and DBZ were edited due to FCC reasons before being aired.

this is perfect, Speed Grapher could be a huge hit on toonami.

sarcasm right?

I'm thinking so, to beable to air on toonami the show would be about 7 minutes long. What a bunch of dicks Funi is, just buy up the domain names and if they don't get the licsense they at least still profit from the show in some way. Thank god for fansubs...

You know, I think yall are forgetting that there are plenty of variations a licensor can have for site addresses. Such as...

speedgrapheranime.com
speedgrapher.tv
speedgrapheranime.tv
or, even *gasp* (fill in distributor here).com/speedgrapher

An anime doesn't have to have its own domain. In my opinion, it's senseless to give everyone its own.

Oh, great; another person who thinks that fansubs are the greatest invention in the history of the world. Rolling Eyes You probably think that steroid use in professional sports is OK too, right? Rolling Eyes FUNi has bills to pay, you know!

I think Speed Grapher is a blockbuster waiting to happen. The one thing I admire about FUNi is that they know how to pick stellar titles - Dragonball, Yu Yu Hakusho, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fruits Basket, and so on. Hopefully FUNi will be able to get the license to this series, but at this point in time it's too early to tell. All three of these Studio Gonzo titles just started airing in Japan, so it'll be a while before we know if they will become mega-hits (and since they are Gonzo-animated titles, they probably will Cool ).

As for Speed Grapher on Toonami; it's more suited for [adult swim] should it air on American television, but that won't happen until 2006 at the earliest.

It really doesn't matter if they become mega hits or not in Japan. More and more titles are being licensed after only a couple of episodes air in Japan, leading me to think 1 of 2 things are happening these days. #1- More and more American companies are providing money to produce these series. How much depends, but this gives them the rights to either market in the US without paying anything or gives them the rights to buy the rights first before anybody else can. #2- More and more companies are screening series before they air in Japan and are deciding to pick them up based on their own opinions and not on how well they are doing in Japan. I don't know if this is really happening, but I'm sure more and more companies are basing licensing decisions not off off Japanese success but off of their own market research. Thank god they are basing it off of something.
