Excellent news!
Already own the Australian DVD release, but will definitely double-dip for BD. This isn't just a great show, it's also an amazing-looking show. It still ranks as one of the most impressive examples of animation in a TV anime production, up there with stuff like Bounen no Xamdou, Hyouka and FMA Brotherhood. At the time of its release, i believe it was the most expensive anime TV series ever produced on a cost-per-episode basis.

Huh, never heard of this series before. Sounds pretty interesting.
And if they are willing to license, dub, and release on blu-ray an unknown series from 9 years ago, surely they'd be willing to do the same for Hyouka.....please. No, i'm not going to let it go. I want that series released here so bad it drives me nuts.

The second half of Denno Coil is a personal mixed bag, as it trades in the low-key stories and tone of the first half for something more traditionally melodramatic (more "anime"), but it's still an amazing show, and the first half by itself is one of the best ever made. Think this is also an HD production. It came out just right before Shigurui, and I know Madhouse made the switch to HD around that time. Should look nice on Blu-ray.
Gonna be weird to get used to typing Den-noh Coil, though.

yes please. Even if they're messes, they're beautiful and moving messes.
I'd love to see the second season of Mushishi and Mouryou no Hako licensed, as well, but the time for the latter has probably passed. Given Vertical didn't release more of the original novels, I'm gonna assume those didn't do too well.

AWESOME NEWS!
I own the AUS/NZ release but will definitely double dip for the dub. One thing I do hope for the dub is that they get actual children to play the roles as most kids in the show are elementary school age which would sound off if they had adult actors playing them.
I hope that the BluRay makes it over to AUS/NZ. It would be nice to reward us down under with such a release.
Personally I have always felt that Dennou Coil would fit really well on broadcast TV. There is zero fanservice, it's targeted at a younger audience yet has intelligent and deep characters, and has a very engaging story inter-spaced with action.

Guys, I've been waiting for this announcement to happen for a LOOOOOONG time now. So I'm SUPER excited right now. This is like bouncing on your chair level excitment. Because it's such a fun little show and pretty niche. I mean I'm surprised we got Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, a title that no one expected to get a release but it happened. But Dennou Coil has been one show that I've waited for and demanded every time a niche title or any title got an announcement for a license. And I told myself that the day I got that news I was going to make my feelings known. So I'm soooo glad and happy right now.
And yes, I would love a release for Kemonozume as well. Now THAT'S a niche title. But it's one that is worth being seen from an artistic standpoint. It's Kickheart creator/director Masaaki Yuasa's work. And we need Mind Games and Genius Party. Which have never been seen but we did get 'Amazing Nuts'.
So let's see, from "my want lists", I finally own Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, and School Days. I'll finally get the chance to OWN the complete 'Higurashi' and 'Dennou Coil', .
Now what I want now is a re-release of the 'Devilman' films, a release of Re: Cutie Honey, Kemonozume, Air Master and if you really want something more niche (considering that Fight Ippatsu! Juden-chan got a release and I own that), try Petopeto-san. That show is by far more niche of recent anime than 'Dennou Coil'. AND I WANT IT.
I could think of more but we haven't gone that old school yet (yeah, I want a Nagareboshi Gin release) and I doubt that would happen any time soon.

I feel like a hypocrite but I don't think I'll dbl dip for this at least not at full price (own the Australian release)
A Blu-Ray release is very nice and I'll probably eventually get it but i can wait. I'd be more tempted to dbl dip right away if they had done something more fancy.
Still happy this was licensed for those who don't import. It deserved to be available in the US. Hoping this streams on CR so there will be another legal way to watch this wonderful series.

HOLY CRAP YEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
*ahem*
Wow this is awesome, and ridiculously unexpected. I watched this show all the way back in 2008 or so, and it was a flat-out masterpiece: a show for kids that was more than intelligent enough for adults, with great writing and tons of heart. I was finally resigning myself to figuring out exactly how importing from Australia works and looking at my best bet for a region-free player, but even then it'd just be for a sub-only DVD. But on BD, and with a dub? Pinch me I'm dreaming. Between this and Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Sentai is slaying it with the pipe-dream licenses this past year. Now if they go ahead and pick up Kaiba I can pretty much die happy.
now get Monster

Amazing news! Hope it looks great on bluray.
I was just thinking about this show a few days ago, but I was expecting Discotek to be the one. It's good to see so many of my favorite lost shows from the mid-2000s finally getting released here, like Windy Tales and Mononoke.

Just use purists that refuse such a bizarre spelling of it. I see no reason why it shouldn't just be Dennou

Hey, nice to see someone in the US license this. While it's been available over here for awhile, thanks to Siren, I do wonder if I should hold off and see if maybe Siren will get their hands on the dubbed version...
Unsure if that is really likely.

First a BLAME reprint and now a Dennou Coil blu ray release? Now I know I'm dreaming.

There's precedent for that. Madman are re-releasing Love Live with the new dub so Siren might do the same.
