Normally it wouldn't and because and only because its AOT its happening. Don't get used to it though because unless a new holy grail like AOT is made the west is never receiving bundled OVAs ever again. They know they can make huge money off of it simply because AOT is fking huge here. |
If it sells well Kodansha could easily try this same method with other fairly popular series like Nanatai or Noragami. It's because Titan is so popular that they're willing to try this out first because they know they'll at least make their money back or suffer minimal losses.

I'm pretty sure these episodes were released DVD-only in Japan as well. I suspect they're holding HD releases back for later BD-box releases (and possibly to appease the companies that would normally get the home video rights).

Likely not. The case with most of these manga exclusive AODs is that's they usually produced exclusively by the title's publisher. Hence why Universal Japan (Geneon) would likely not have the rights to them.

This is crazy, this news!! So you get copy you get a DVD. I love and hate this idea. But good they are starting this with vol. 17. Gotta make sure we're in on this.
