It's ironic that, with so many double-length (or longer) premieres this season that felt stretched out, this is a regular-sized episode that I really wish could have been longer.

Funny, I had the exact same thought a minute or two before the ending. Very Happy One of my favorite premiers so far.

I can't be too hard on Koji though. He's as much a victim of a system in which children exist solely for their parents to use as Miyo is, and it's likely that same non-confrontational temperament of his that drew him to liking Miyo in the first place. If you hold him in contempt for his cowardice, well I guess take solace in knowing he's stuck being married to Kaya, which is probably a fate worse than being disinherited, and one I don't think anyone deserves.

A Megane Gorgon Sits Next to Me was very...GoHands. Are we to assume being nearly legally blind makes one air-headed as well? Not sure what else to take away from this one, but as much as I often have a sort of morbid fascination with GoHands productions, this could well be so boring and stupid that even I can't bear it. Still can't quite get over that opening tracking shot... Shocked

Like a lot of folks, I've been curious about how the mechanics would work in I Was a Teenage Vending Machine. Turns out, not too bad. Smile I'll probably watch at least as long as it takes them to explain why Lammis can't hit anything she's aiming at, and by then it will probably be too late to drop it.

As for Masamune R, I can't remember if I even finished the first series. I didn't see anything in this episode to convince me it will be different. So I think we've already got trouble right here in gay Paree. With a capital T and that rhymes with B and that stands for "Buh-bye!"

One Room Odd Couple was ok. Not sure I can tolerate the chibi Demon Lord for long, but we'll see.

I'm also tentatively on board for War and Pastry, though I couldn't really tell you why. I guess I kinda like the kid, and I'm mildly interested in the non-pastry stuff he's getting up to. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have to agree with the reviewers that Undead Mounted Murder Play is off to a great start! Wish I could've seen the second episode before reading the reviews, but I didn't realize they got two episodes to pre-screen (yes, I know it says so in bold print, but I was skimming it for the blurb and ratings just to see if I even wanted to try it out, and didn't reread it when I came back for the reviews). Anyway, I already like all of the main trio, and plus also too the setting and the animation, and I'm all in for this.

Everyone, I have great news. After many years of trying and failing, we have officially reached the peak of isekai absurdity.

Bonus stage: The one where the guy reincarnates as the onsen bathwater.

While I’m aware many of us (myself included) are very ambivalent about—or just plain turned off by—Rurouni Kenshin, I see that Crunchyroll has just added the show to it’s summer lineup, FYI

I’m waiting for the one where a monstrous villain from a battle shounen reincarnates as the protagonist’s adorable pet cat in a Cardcaptor Sakura type show.

Man. Season 2 of JJK already looks so much better than S1, it's actually ridiculous.

I think the constant rants about GoHands and "The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses" are starting to be a little inappropriate at this point, just stop it already. There are also people who didn't hate it. You made your point, and don't have to watch any more of it.

So far i really enjoyed:
My Happy Marriage, Jujutsu Kaisen S2 and Rurouni Kenshin. Also expecting Zom 100 to be good.

Watching the mansion stuff from Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 made me realize that I think what that sequence achieves with some of it's tracking shots, is what Gohands is trying to do but consistently failing at. I also loved the Digimon in JJK as well. But yeah JJK as better than i thought it would be and my expectations were already sky hi.

Still need to check out the first episode of Undead Murder Farce, but now I'm just waiting for Dark Gathering to come out, whenever that show is released, and Bleach on Saturday and I'll have my 4 shows for the season., unless Dark Gathering or Undead Murder Farce don't grab me in which case I'm looking at a few other series to maybe replace it with, but they haven't aired yet.

Thanks for the heads up, they're doing it with very little fanfare, gee, I wonder why...(cancelled my account and told them I'm not coming back any time soon)

Edit to add: I'll be interested to see how ANN covers this show. My vote would be to totally boycott it.

Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon (My Happy Marriage)

Unless this goes over a cliff, will be my anime of the season, and possibly the year.

Good thing Netflix is not doing their full season dump thing, or I would probably binge watch it and be miserable the next day from lack of sleep.

It's kind of weird to me that we're jumping back for a prequel, but holy crap that JJK episode was excellent.

Why? Is there some sort of scandal attached to it?

I mean the author of the Rurouni Kenshin manga was convicted of possession of child pornography.

Since it seems we are getting near the end of new shows, I'll put in my two cents that Am I Actually the Strongest? and The Great Cleric should make good candidates for weekly reviews. Why? Because they could be entertaining shows but not so interesting that I would want to check them out myself. How to do a "three episode test" without the watching, so to speak.
