It has been almost a year since the release of Naoki Urasawas Monster Boxset 1 and i was wondering if anybody new why Viz media has not released Boxset 2.I realize that the rest of the episodes can be purchased on Itunes but i prefer buying the dvd.

You and the rest of the internet it seems, no one has any information on why Viz has stopped/paused doing them.
Similar question, if you can get the episodes on itunes but not on DVD, doesn't that mean there's no way for fans to get the subbed episodes or are those streaming somewhere else?

This should answer your question: Viz is run by retards.

Monster isn't the only show that got shafted. And you aren't the only fan who was completely screwed over.

If Viz is serious about not releasing Monster, than I'll be hard pressed to have confidence in their future dvd releases. This sh*t is annoying me so bad I'm just going to stop right now. Mad

I was interested in buying this series, but I'm not going to pick up box set 1 when it seems like the rest of series is going to remain unreleased. If Viz can't be bothered to release the entire series, then why did they pick up the licence? I imagine it couldn't have been cheap to dub a 70 episode series, and they're not even going to give it a first-run release at all past episode 15? As futile as they usually are, someone should get a petition going or something. Mad

Someone should make a letter to viz using Google.doc and pass it around different sites letting people sign their names to the letter. When enough people signed it mail it out to viz. Not only that, but if there is a way to email Viz then have everyone flood their email asking about Monster, and if you can call Viz then constantly call them over and over asking them about Monster. If you have a large amount people pestering Viz asking them about Monster over and over then they are bound to give us answers.

Does anyone know how well boxset 1 did? Did it completely bomb resulting in like 90% of the product being sent back by retailers or something? I'm trying to think of reasons why Viz would do this to a prestigious series like Monster. Confused

*Raises hand*

Another extremely pissed off, impatient, and frustrated Monster fan right here. Evil or Very Mad

If I didn't want to find out what happens in the Black Lagoon, Claymore, and Dogs: Bullets and Carnage manga then I'd be through with this company by now.

You could always buy your viz manga used. There's no reason to give this company anymore of your money.

Well, guess you're never getting Monster if that's the attitude...

Yet being a good samaritan yields no positive results either...

I wanted to buy the series at the time, but couldn't. And now that I can, I'm hesitant to do so. If a 2nd box set was released so that I was certain Viz was still willing to try, I'd buy both box sets.

I'm thinking of sending them a letter. I would at least like an update on the issue... whether or not they're still willing on giving it a try or not.
