Obviously someone doesn't know what physics is, if they are saying this category belongs to physics.
This belongs to Biology if anything. I suggest whoever wrote this article, should go make sure what physics is. |

The amount of complaining in this thread makes me lol.

generally, when talking about [fictional world name] physics, you're talking about general rules in said fictional world which differ from the real world, including, but not limited to actual physics. it's an expression, get over it.
btw, i liked the article and hope to see plenty more of them. |

This is incomplete, not many Westerners know this, but there's another element to guys getting nosebleeds in anime. It is believed that when a guy has a nosebleed, he is having an overflow of Yang (associated with males) chi. Thus, his arousal leads to an overflow of Yang chi resulting in a nosebleed.

This. It may have started with actual physics as in spaceships movement for dramatic effect rather than following the laws of mechanics, but it has become a more general phrase. |

You know, in 19 years, I've never had a nosebleed. It's never bled even when I've been punched in the face (it's happened more than once).
Anyways, I think Kanako of Maria Holic is the nosebleed champion. Either her or Ikuto Touhouin from Nagasarete Airantou, but he was a teenager trapped on an island full of women that wanted his...um...pimp juice since he was also the only male. Kanako was just a dirty old man in a young girls body. Also, apparently unlike most everyone else here, I dig the Interest articles. They create an air of comfort and relaxation unlike the rest of the talkback threads that can turn into flame wars at the drop of a hat. Keep up the good work Gia. |

Haha, nice article. Perhaps, to avoid further nitpicking from our subculture, retitle future articles as "Anime Science"?
Although one could debate that biology is just an impure form of physics |

Looks like the Nitpicker Brigade is out in force today.
As TJ_Kat correctly noted, "{something} physics" in storytelling is generally understood to mean "the rules applying to the world of {something}". Thus, for instance, "Narnia physics" would have to include the law that declares that "the blood of traitors belongs to Jadis". I don't see this use of terminology as being all that difficult to understand, unless one invokes a willful determination not to understand. But I guess that's what the Nitpicker Brigade is all about. - abunai |

I've always disliked the use of nosebleeds to show sexual arousal in anime for the obvious fact that it makes no sense.
Just wanted to let my opinion be known. |

Well, true, it doesn't make sense. But, like laugh tracks and rimshots on American sitcoms and comedy shows, it's a storytelling convention of the anime medium. Sense or not, so long as you get the point of the nosebleed ("Haha, he's so geared up over her he started gushing like a geyser!"), what's the problem? - abunai |

I have to agree with those who think the title of the article is wrong.
May I suggest in its place "Anime vs Science"? That should cover anything that comes up. Umm, unless you think the content is better served by "Anime AND Science"..... |
