Hey, Japan... how about animating the Gilmore Girls next. Wink

Impossible, all the VAs would die from exhaustion from attempting to speak at the insane speed those characters do. Since my sister is OBSESSED with the show, I've actually seen bits of it here and there, and that Family Guy spoof (save the makeout) is NO exaggeration.

Wait -- Navarre is...

That's...eerily plausible.

As long as this won't just stay in Japan, I'm all for it. Supernatural has been a great series so far and I'm both surprised and deeply pleased by this news. (Wow, who knew it was so popular over there?)

I just hope everyone involved understands that there will be a lot of non-Japanese fans who want this too.

Of course, Dean must make a tentacle joke somewhere in it. He must. You know he must have stumbled across that in his search for busty Asian beauties at some point. Wink

Wow, this certainly came out of nowhere. I didn't even know Supernatural aired in Japan, let alone, was popular enough to spawn an animated series. Should be interesting. I'm curious to see where they will go with it.

Holy crap! Well, if that happened, then Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood would be the LAST show Funimation airs on [as]; everything else (including this) would go to Syfy!

Although somehow I doubt FUNi is going to get this...they might then...they might...

So, look like Warners Brothers is in the anime game. Well, first it's Thundercats, then Funimation/Bioware Dragon Age anime, and now it's Supernatural: the anime. What's next:

-Ubisoft after announcing they will do JRPG, announce they enter the anime market and say Rainbow Six will get a anime adaptation (because many of the games did so wellin Japan).
-Rockstar announcing Grand Theft Auto 5 take place in Japan, and announce they'll be a anime prequel for the game.
-Blizzard announce a Starcraft anime anthology with Japanese and Korean animation studio involved with this production.

It looks like we're seeing the rise of "western franchises into anime" trend.

Dude. I would frickin' KILL for a GTA Tokyo... Prolly never happen though.

In either case I like me some Supernatural + anime, so looking forward to this - I have not been thrilled with all these types of american-based anime since animatrix, but we'll see...

Not bad, not bad. Supernatural's a pretty damn good show - and the setup is far from implausible for an anime.

After seeing these recent "western IPs to anime" switches, I've noticed them getting a lil bit better and better. So, I'm not terribly skeptical on this one.

Wow, I never saw this coming, but I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of it! I really hope it comes out in America as well, but, in that case, they really need to get the actors from the show to participate. It wouldn't be the same without them. Ooh, I hope they include Castiel! Anime hyper

Good god no, it's bad enough that it got revived as is but an anime adaptation would just be worse.

And that's a damn shame because it would indeed be awesome.

I don't know man. They better not screw this up. Would they be airing it on tv, or is it straight to dvd/bd?

Hmm, my boyfriend hates anime but loves Supernatural. I'm looking forward to this coming out *just* to see his reaction to it. Wink Plus it seems like it could be an interesting project.

As long as they don't make it BL. Smile

I think Supernatural could work well for anime. Hearing of this I right away thought of Night Head which involved two brothers. And of course there's the opportunity for ghosts, vampires and such.

I'm a fan of Supernatural, and I have often thought that it was the kind of show that would be popular with the Japanese (hot shonen brothers travelling around killing demons, with various plots and subplots running). Never thought something like this would happen, though.

That said, we really don't need another Highlander (or Afro Samurai).

As said above, it should be something of a decent length, not just a movie or two 45 minute specials. Something where they allow the plot to develop properly. Also, I really hope there will be a Japanese audio version available, firstly because it would be interesting to see how it's handled, secondly because for me anime somehow doesn't look right unless the voices are Japanese.

That one scene where he picked up the magazine, there were actually no other pornos in the shop to choose from, so fanon may not be accurate here.
