Skull Man!!! An overlooked gem. Nice one Sentai. What I really like about them is that they announce a license and then actually release it 3 or so months later. Much better than the 2 year waits after Funi announces a license.

I gotta admit, I'm very tempted to pick up Maria Holic. I loved reading the manga (and I'm very far from being a yaoi/yuri fan at any point), so I'm sure I'll love the anime as well.

You know, I'd been wondering, if Maria+Holic gets licensed, how the hell they would dub this thing?
Yu Kobayashi's voice is always so dynamic, she could easily go from high-pitch to deep on the fly. It was no wonder she played the character so well in this. In an English dub, though, how would that have worked out? The best I could think of was Luci Christian, since she's played both male and female roles before, and maybe some others I can't think remember their names anymore. But I was hoping Luci would do the voice, then maybe they'd cast as Shizu... You know what? It doesn't even matter anyway, cause now I don't have to worry. Sentai's releasing it sub only, and that's just fine with me. So long as we get Kobayashi's awesome opening song in there, not to mention Marina Inoue, I'm happy as a clam. Kinda feel bad for downloading the dvd torrents now... |

lol does Naruto still say that in the dub? Anyways, despite the complaint, I give you +1 for teh lulz. I can see how Maria Holic is outside of Funi territory though. Seems hard to pull off well in dub form, and the same would go for Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei series. But Skull Man seems like something Funi could've released. I guess it was too old, or too unpopular for them (or anyone else solicited)? |

Somewhat surprised that Skull Man is licensed, though I can't complain. With this and Ghost Hound, I wouldn't mind Sentai pumping out these kind of shows every few months or so.

Heh, I'm more partial to the ED myself. The OP's an impressive feat, though.  And am I the only one who totally didn't realize at first that Marina Inoue was voicing Matsurika? Guess I was just so used to her as Yoko (and Kasahara from Library Wars, even) at the time.

This is Mario's first complaint that made me smile.
Anyway sounds like interesting pick-ups. I don't know much of Skull Man but I think it's a nice diverse pick from what Sentai Filmworks and Section23 Films have been picking up lately. As a SHAFT and Shinbo fan, I'm very excited to see Maria Holic. Can't wait! |

Well I only watched one episode of Maria Holic thinking it would get picked up by the end of the year. So now it's on my shopping list for next year ~
I don't care who picks up the Shaft shows, just bring them over at this point. I want Zetsubou Sensei over here, or at least another show done by Shaft. |

Yay I've heard really good things about Maria Holic ... and I loved the first volume of the manga
And is someone actually saying this overpriced? $40 for a complete series is pretty cheap ... especially considering it'll be even cheaper from Best Buy / Amazon
