Will wonders never cease?

I suppose Youtube and Hulu users should get acquainted with Prince Planet/Bobby (Papii),Diana (Riko),Dan Dynamo (Strong),Ojibaba,Pops Worthy,Warlock and Crag (Lord Gorem),if they haven't done so already.

Chalk one up for classic anime! Shocked Never thought this show would ever see the light of day again after the license limbo it was stuck under.

Kinda disappointed that it is only english dub though. But it could be due to the fact that the original Japanese audio track no longer exists.

Never heard of this one.

Oh well, if it has the title of "Classic" it probably means it.

Thank GOD for it being dubbed too.

Really? How about Kimba the White Lion, Marine Boy, Speed Racer, 8th Man (disappointingly called "8 Man" in the encyclopedia here), and Astro Boy? NBC used to have Astro Boy and Marine Boy in prime time, but I caught them all in syndication when Wee Willie Webber had them, plus Ultraman and (bleh) Johnny Sokko, on WPHL. Webber still talks about "Japanimation" in the Philadelphia area occasionally.

As I recall it, most of the Prince Planet plots came down to his pendant (the source of his power) getting drained as he was fighting evil because the guy who was supposed to charge it up was always sleeping on duty.

Heard of Kimba, Speed Racer, and Astro Boy (Who hasn't? It's the Mickey Mouse of anime!)

Yeah I heard of Kimba via Shelf Life, Speed Racer is, well, Speed Racer, and caught Astro Boy one night at a hotel dubbed. Not bad. For it being black and white.

Like I said: If an anime is pretty old, and it has the title of "Classic" I'll look at it sometime...

I'm busy with Dragonaut, Scrapped Princess, Moribito, and Druaga.

Now if only they'd stream Marine Boy and Amazing 3. Anime hyper

(And I had the thought that this would have been hilarious if the transform ray had turned him into a "Princess"!)

Here comes Prince Planet...Prrrriiiiiinnnccceee PLANET!!!"

Yaaay!!!!

This is the best news I've had in like forever!! I'm not going to have any free time in the next few weeks. I'll be watching Prince Planet as he KILLS...that's right...KILLS bad guys...and then says the immortal line "They'll never bother anyone again!!"

Fortunately, the Japanese audio track is alive and well. I own the Japanese dvd box set which contains all 52 episodes of Yuusei Shonen Papi, and the video transfer is superb!

As for how much that box set cost...Let's just say I think I paid that store's rent for a month.
