Episode 12
Wow and I mean, wow. I loved seeing Hitagi back on the scene but this episode made me realize how much I've missed her around. The father was just the guy I was thinking he could be. I mean really, Hitagi calling Koyomi "garbage"....lol.
Just sooo many warm and fuzzy feelings I do not even care if I see the rest of Tsubasa Cat. Other than that I am at a loss for words with this episode and series overall.
This is just the greatest...

I have no idea how Bakemonogatari tops itself every once in a while but I want more of that. Hitagi is back in full power! I've missed her a great deal and, as usuall, she enters with a bang. I loved when she said: "I'll destroy your image of perverted girl that even Kanbaru will look innocent!" and then she bit overexcited and paralyzed Koyomi in the ear!!! SO AWESOME! Then we saw her vulnerable & cute side too! I also love when Hitagi asked Koyomi: "What do you like about me?" Koyomi replied "everything", but Hitagi only named three things... Hitagi is telling Koyomi that he is not perfect but I wonder if he gets it.
For me this episode even tops episodes 5 & 6. MUST SEE MORE!!!

Interesting that people were complaining about Hitagi Senjougahara not apearing in a while, and bang, we have this episode as episode 12. We got some more revealing information of their relatioship, and Hitagi does not fail to entertain with her actions that confuse whether she is coming or going.
Well I guess that she likes to live up to her self proclaimed tsundere status. At the start we had what seemed like she made bentos, with love made into it and she was going along feeding him, though he seemed quite scared. And even did an obvious cliche of rice on face, she put their and instead of eating as per the cliche, she threw it out. I think their might be too much to mention for the main body of the episode, but time still seemed to fly dureing it.
And the final bit was cool, would I be wrong in saying that we saw Hitagi different then we usualy have. Almost completing the tsundere part of having her blush in embarasment from showing her soft spot.
I don't know if their was a lot to add to the Tsubasa cat story, except maybe some reference that Hitagi made that she knnew she was under pressure to perform well. And from some of the reactions I might speculate that possibly the relationships Koyomi has with Hitagi and Tsubasa might clash.

Things like this make me think developer teams (not only in anime) might actually be listening to their fans; although of course it's just good judgment on their part, but that doesn't make it less... miraculous. I'm talking of course about a situation when something delivers what many people wanted.
An excellent episode. Senjougahara delivers - even with a different hair style (I sort of thought it was a reference to some other character... dunno why, her face looked familiar for a second, I might be imagining things though) And I really liked the ending song tie-in (which is great btw, became one of my favourites).
I hope they'll continue with their original release plan (and eventually do a second season).

It was a highly amusing episode. Although given her actions, I have to wonder if Senjougahara actually knows how to act on a date. The whole "feeding scene" made me wonder if she was thinking, "This is what couples in love do right? I'm supposed to make a mistake right about...now, and he's supposed to act in a certain way."
Of course, what i really want to know is what the heck did she tell poor Koyomi that made his ears burn and warp his standards completely.
Well, a few more episodes and that will be that for Bakemono. Hopefully we will see a 2nd season someday when enough material comes out.

You're not old enough to know that. Maybe I'll tell you in a couple of years.
The rice thing though, I'm pretty sure she knows how it's "supposed" to work, but she enjoys teasing Araragi.
The ending was so sweet, I totally didn't see it coming. I'm a little confused as to why she just didn't get a blindfold or something, but that doesn't really matter. And, hey, the ending theme makes sense. A lovely little tie-in.

Episode 12 was filled with lots of awesomeness. It's good to see Hitagi back and nice that they devoted an entire episode to their relationship. I think she has a different hairstyle every time we see her. The one she had in this one looked really nice. I have to wonder what perverted things she was whispering to him as well. Amazing how this show is mostly nothing but people having conversations but yet it's still extremely entertaining, and in fact is actually the highlight. It takes a special type of character dynamic tor that to happen usually and I don't see it too often.

A few thoughts and questions showed up after this episode.
First of all this was the best episode so far, they should've given us a special opening just for it. But I know how busy they are, fixing the past episodes for dvd release while working on the last episodes.
This episode looked like it was meant to be the original ending, or is it because a storm is coming within the next episodes, so they had to strengthen their relationship.
Question:Senjougahara made it really hard to understand during this episode, but up to now I thought that someone certainly tried to rape her, but failed. So, the question may be a bit harsh, but was she raped or not?
Knowing this is probably fundamental to understand her from now on...

She was not. It is explicitly stated in episode 2

I thought it just was that the person tried, but that doesn't stop the fact that her mother did nothing.

Can it get any better than this?
It's almost scary, but I think the answer is..."HELL YEAH!" With three eps to go, there's a lot of ground left to cover, and you just gotta believe that the events of this episode aren't exactly helping Tsubasa's current problem.
Interestingly, Araragi was mostly "silent" at certain points in this episode (for example, I expected Araragi to say something during the "this is all I have"/personal insecurity/possible implied self-loathing/lack of self-worth deal from Hitagi). It did seem "appropriate" in this situation, but what about when it comes to "solving" the central "riddle" of this arc? Not exactly going out a limb to guess that Araragi will be really put to the test before long. Family problems, relationships, complications...this could be one heck of a ride.

Well, I've seen all 12 of the broadcast episodes, so I'm ready to join the Bakemonogatari party even though we are just three from the end. I've read through the entire thread and rue that I didn't start watching from eppie 1 so that I could have participated in the convo. earlier. Great job, dtm42, of being thread host. You're definitely putting more effort into it than I could've mustered.
I think Senjougahara has replaced Taiga as my favourite Tsundere-chan of all time. For one thing, she's about, oh, a trillion times scarier. Taiga seems like the type of character that at least once you do finally penetrate all her defenses and get her to love you, you're pretty much in the clear. Whereas Senjougahara wouldn't let a little thing like love get in the way of continuing to torture you, mentally, emotionally and physically. Ai yi yi yi. I genuinely felt tense for Araragi in eppie 12 when she was leading him through the forest in the dark to his...doom? So happy that it turned out to be sweet instead of painful.
I don't believe the Anime Gods will be so cruel as to deny me an eventual R1 DVD release. And when that happens I'm absolutely going to pause and frame-by-frame advance the crap out of this mofo.

I see you finally picked up Bakemonogatari Blood-, welcome!
It seems you regret not watching this series along its run... well your silly custom 'to wait till it's all done' is finally getting back at you, I hope. I am glad that you like Bake, and don't forget that every participant of this thread ought to rate it "masterpiece" if they don't want to bring the wrath of said Anime Gods upon themselves.

I think a 9/10 isn't a completely ridiculous rating, though I'd give it a 9.5-10 right now.
IMHO, this is a strong contender for best anime of the year. This could be the most entertaining anime I've ever seen.

Yes! Bring me more episode 12! This episode was also hugely entertaining for me. Hitagi's Father was a nice addition to the scene, despite his short appearance. Man I am crossing my fingers that we see more of Bakemonogatori animated and brought to R1! The loli-arc made me lose a little faith in this show (by far the weakest arc IMO) but I have renewed faith thanks to eps 11 and 12. Keep it coming!
