WOW! Shocked To see Chibi Vampire 13 higher than Fruits Basket! I love Chibi Vampire, but that still surprises me! Well, hopefully strong sales will help Tokyopop get back on their feet - they seem to have been pretty quiet lately.

I feel that, once more, I should point out the fact that bestseller lists are created based on what the stores buy from the publishers, not what the readers buy from the stores. The fact that a series is on the bestseller list doesn't necessarily mean that many people are buying it.

The New York Times has indicated that its best seller lists are based on actual sell-through data to readers. This has been an issue of much discussion recently.

I guess vampires are popular. Maybe that's why Rosario + Vampire sells well, even though it's not there this week.

Even if that is true, it should still give some indication of what's popular. If a bookstore buys a lot of Naruto, it's because they expect a lot of their customers to buy it.

Karin's a good, funny, and cute series. It's no wonder that it would be up there with the likes of Naruto and Fruits Basket. Though I have to see we're seeing Naruto domination alright. One can only wonder how long this will last per se.
