Weird ._.

I remember getting a hold of a friends copy of one volume and being surprised that it was left-to-right. I wonder what made them switch. They've printed this many that way. Perhaps they didn't like feeling like an odd duck for flipping the pages?

Wow, Viz, you're way behind on this one, what's with the delay? And, no, I will not give you more money for another copy of it unflipped. Why didn't they unflip it ages ago? The unflipped Maison Ikkoku ages ago. I thought it was weird that they flipped Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2 personally, nothing else they publish seems to be. Perhaps the first 37 flipped volumes will fall into TRSI's bargain bin as a result?
I'm usually ok with flipped manga so long as the whole thing is flipped I suppose. No, that's a lie, I'm only ok with it if it's Osamu Tezuka stuff, I'll read that flipped or unflipped since it's just so good!

About time Viz unflipped Inuyasha!
Why did they even flip it in the first place? It's not like it's THAT hard to train your eyes to read manga from right-to-left!

If I remember correctly, Viz did unflip the first 18 volumes or so several years ago. A similar thing happened with Ranma 1/2 as well.
To be honest, I also don't know why the heck they were still releasing it flipped at this point and discontinuing the earlier unflipped editions for both titles.
In short, it's about time. Now they need to unflip Ranma 1/2.

I'm kind of confused as to why they're releasing non-omnibus unflipped versions. Are people really that picky about their collections that they'll re-buy the series to have it un-flipped, but not if it's in omnibus form?

I think if anything the title of the article might be more proper as..
"Viz to End Flipped Page Layout Publications of Inuyasha"
Right? Because, last "I" checked, they had unflipped it like... LONG ago.
Like a year or two ago. .-.

That's an awful lot of reprinting that they're going to have to do. If anything, like the majority has been saying here they should have done it earlier, or not flipped it at all. I don't know what the thought process was back then, but it looks like they've got their heads above water now. Although I feel for all those people who will buy all of the unflipped volumes now.

Huh, what the flip is going on?
There's gonna be so many flipping editions now, and I don't even flipping care about the manga....
*Okay, I'll stop*

For me, more interesting news than unflipping is that Inuyasha gets VIZBIG. I own only 2 volumes so I'll probably try buying VIZBIG edition.

Well it kind of sucks that even if you start collecting NOW, you will either have 2 different flip sides, or HAVE to get the big editions to have everything unflipped -_- This is one reason why I didn't bother buying X/1999 as well (as well as obvious reasons...). I guess the next time its printed will be in VizBig which I am personally not a fan of (I enjoy my single volumes like the rest of my collection).
You'd think after they changed their format from the bigger sized books, that they would flip ALL of them :/ Oy.

this thread is making me not like the word "flip" right now ...
Well I was going to start buying IY starting from where the anime left off but since it's "unnatural" I think I'll hold off on buying until this problem is corrected.

Inu-Yasha was published in single issues when Viz first released it, so of course it was flipped. All the U.S. manga releases were at the time. Why they kept it flipped for so long is another matter.

Smart of them to make the announcement when Rumiko Takahashi is back in the spotlight. I'm glad they'll release the volumes more frequently. Yeah Viz!
