Hey everyone, I'm going to be DJing Phoenix ComiCon this year and me and my friend have been looking for some anime themes or theme remixes that are very dancable. I'm not looking for something so ravey and I would like to dig a little deeper than just Hare Hare Yukai and Motteke! Sailor Fuku, and I'm not afraid to pull some older stuff (M.U.S.C.L.E. MUSCLE!). Help me guys, I'd really appreciate your insight as you are my audience!

Bomb A Head! Returns! from Tenjou Tenge is pretty catchy. They even have the characters dance to it a little in the intro. Here's a video of the whole song with a montage of the anime. It also includes that short segment of Bob and Aya dancing.
And as crappy as the series is, Burst Angel's Loosey is pretty upbeat. Video of song with anime montage. It uses tap dancing for the rhythm, so it might be a little fast. A few other good J-Pop titles I like are from Gundam SEED. Invoke, Ignited, and Zips by T.M.Revolution. I always thought his music would be great for DDR, especially Zips. If you want something a little slower, you can try Come (from InuYasha, ugh!) by Namie Amuro. Another song of hers I like is So Crazy. It's not from an anime, but is a little more borderline on hip-hop if you want something like that. EDIT: Forgot to bold a title. The second One Piece OP, Believe by Folder5, practically screams dance music, at least to my ears. I'm not a huge fan of the song myself, which probably makes it even more suitable for dancing purposes.

I don't know if we are really a reliable source of such kind of information. ANN forums are populated by a more... civil crowd, which I assume should be a little older. You should consider researching what is popular among the guys who are fanatics for anime related songs. This is the best link I could think of. Please notice that many songs there aren't OPs or EDs.
OPs of shows that are still airing like Toradora! are worthy of checking. Pre-Parade is a fast paced J-Pop that should please your audience. The opening theme of Hakaba Kitarō, Mononoke Dance by Denki Groove is definitely a good choice. Paradise Kiss' OP by Tommy February6, Lonely in Gorgeous. I highly doubt the crowd won't dance to this one. Almost anything that combines Susumu Hirasawa and anime might be of your interest. Very unique music style. He did the soundtrack for Paprika, the OP for Paranoia Agent, the soundtrack for Millennium Actress, and the famous Forces for Berserk. Since you don't seem to mind a few years old considering you used Haruhi and Lucky as examples, you might want to check out Utada Hikaru's Beautiful World, ED of the new Evangelion movie. Populism also reminds me of Last Exile's OP, Cloud Age Symphony by Shuntaro Okino; Utawarerumono's OP Musuoka by Suara; Air's OP Tori no Uta by Lia; and Kumi Koda's version of Cutey Honey for Re: Cutie Honey. Good luck. |

Texhnolyze's opener Guardian Angel (by Juno Reactor) might work. The full version is pretty long too.

After searching my mildly sized catolog of various themes and OSTs here is what I came up with. Then again though, the only place you are going to really be seeing me super into music is at heavy metal concert headbanging.
Red Fraction GMS remix: Of Black Lagoon fame, but with much more emphasis on the beat, a little on the long side perhaps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kXHagH-VAI Virgins High! (instrumental): Has a pretty catchy beat once you drop out the lyrics. Your on your own for finding this one. Tank!: Of Cowboy Bebop fame, seems workable to me. Should be easy to find. Not Anime but I have to suggest it, I wont be able to live with myself if I dont. Cloud Connected (club connected): A remix of the In Flames song Cloud Connected. I was at one of their concerts when they played this song (the original), and the audience (myself included) was so into it. Maybe not danceable, but very powerful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxQrlxRAqRk |

Shut Up and Explode by the Boom Boom Satellites
It's the OP of Xam'd Lost Memories. Recently heard about it myself. I find the tune really catchy and can't help but dance everytime I hear it |

As for me, Hare Hare Yukai from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, Motteke Sailor Fuku from Lucky Star, Pre-Parade from Tordora! is for someone who loves to dance with such catchy songs. The moves will be so fast(and fun)! For someone who loves to clubbing, these songs will be great; Blaze, Triangle and Sociometry from Shakugan no Shana Second. Try it!
