Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me out. I'm doing a presentation tomorrow on manga for a group of school librarians and I wanted to talk briefly about yaoi and yuri. I'm a reader of yaoi, so I know which titles are explicit and which titles aren't. However, I'm not into yuri and can't seem to find a site anywhere that will tell me which titles are which.
Can anyone recommend to me two or three titles with explicit yuri scenes (Do any even exist in the U.S.?) and two or three non-explicit titles (i.e. hand-holding, kissing, but nothing else.) I'd prefer that the girl/girl relationship be a major part of the plot/storyline, but I'll take what I can get. Thank you in advance for any help anyone can offer! |

I don't know if you will find anything really explicit in yuri. I don't know all that much about the genre (just a little bit I'm sure someone else is more qualified), but I don't think that it fits the context.
Still here are some yuri titles that I know of: Blue by Kiriko Nananan (By far and away the most recommended title) Between the Sheets by EricaIono-sama Fanatics (Iono-Sama Fanatics) by Miyabi Fujieda Sakurazawa (This is more of a comedy that anything) The Last Uniform by Mera Hakamada (Heard good things about this one) Steady Beat by Rivkah (OEL highly recommended) Strawberry Panic by Sakurako Kimino (There is a manga and a novel for this one - lots of fanservice.) Yuri Monogatari (On-going yuri anthology work - this one may have the more explicit scene you are looking for. I don't know for sure however, since I do not own any of these vols.) Lastly, there are some other works I am forgetting from Seven Seas Strawberry line. This line is all yuri works even if it is implied. Hopefully, my small amount of knowledge will help. |

I enjoy this series, but it needs to be noted that the yuri content is rather low and the violence quite high. One of the main characters is effectively immortal and she gets torn up quite a bit. As in, being bisected, losing limbs, etc. Many no-names die rather gruesome deaths as well. |

As for something explicit, Media Blasters' Kitty Media is going to release the yuri manga Maka Maka which I know for sure that's explicit!
And that is the extent of our yuri market.......for now!!! |
