Has anyone else gotten it yet? I just finished watching the second DVD and was noticing that my XBox 360 paused two or three times while playing the DVD. To check if it was just the XBox I tried playing it in my laptop as well, same pause, not for the same length of time but still there. There doesn't appear to be any damage on the bottom of the disc so I'm not sure what the problem is. Any one else have this problem?

And of course I invite a moderator to delete this thread if this has already been asked and/or addressed somewhere else.

Thanks.

Bandai knows about this and is looking into it.

Because of this issue, I decided to just Netflix it and wait until the problem has been taken care of.

Out of curiousity has anyone who has gotten this disc tried it in an actual DVD player? I keep hearing about problems with it in the 360, PS2, laptops and computers but I haven't actually heard about anyone putting it in a real DVD player.

It is a know issue, the following is from the news letter from Roberts Anime corner.

Quote:
Play Problems With the First Code Geass DVD

You know, we've seen problems with Bandai pressings for so long it's almost become old hat (see, I didn't say "pain in the ass" this time...), but seriously, they must have some big QC problem in their authoring or replication process that they either can't or don't care to fix, because this issue with entire batches of bad disks still happens way too often. The current issue is playback problems with the first volume of Code Geass. Fortunately being on the East Coast, it takes a little longer to for those DVD's to work their way out to us and people had already started reporting the playback issues when our stock arrived, so we quietly quarantined the shipment. Bandai has disks coming our way from a second batch that we hope will not have the playback problem from the first pressing, and we're not going to start shipping the title until that batch arrives next week, though I think we're the only retailer in the country to hold shipment of these due to the problem. In any case, once we do start shipping the title next week, if any of you guys run into playback problems with the disks, Bandai will be handling exchanges (you know the drill) directly so be sure check your disk right away and go to this link http://bandai-ent.com/contact/customer_service.html to report any problems as soon as possible.

Seeing as how people seem to have this, does anyone know if there are pictures of the box up anywhere on the net? I mean pictures of the actual box, and not just the art that all the sites are using. I'm curious as to what the box itself looks like...

So, I'm a little confused. Is this the only way to get the artbox?

It seems like people are having problems with it in just about everything. It doesn't seem like its limited to just game systems and computers.

Yes, the LE is the only way to get the artbox.

Well that's a little lame. I don't want any OSTs or Manga or T-Shirt or whatever else comes with it. I'll still buy it, of course, but I won't like it.

I just got my set in today. Took a while but can't beat the 33.49 I paid at DD, so I won't complain (I still don't know if that was a sale price or an error because it was changed the day after I ordered, but I'm not gonna go asking around afterwards).

First of all, this is one heck of a pretty box!

Now then... I'm wondering if there are any specific episodes or scenes I should look for to see if my set has the playback issues. Or does it just happen at random points?

I'm hoping I could maybe skim a few parts, just to check, without having to sit through both volumes. Of course I bought it because I want to watch it, but I was going to wait until I have the whole set together before watching, as is what I usually do. However I don't want to be surprised in 8 months or so and find out I have a bad disk, so I'll watch these two now if I have to, but I would rather wait.

Thanks in advance for any replies! (I won't be able to check any until about 3 or 4 tomorrow morning.)

I like extras to some degree, but the extras with this box are a little lame for the price. The T-Shirts sold me Eureka Seven (wound up buying every box but the last one...), but I dunno if I can justify spending this much money on a box when I have no interest in the extras. E7 also had a better soundtrack.

I just got the LE set yesterday. The first dvd played on my dvd player with no problems and testing it on the ps3 tonight. the second dvd has 2 or 3 pauses on the last two episodes. Nothing major but at least it is not like it was with the flag and GSD dvds in January. I may decide to replace these just to be on the safe side. I just returned my GSD 12 a few months ago. It played fine the first time I watched but the second time the part everyone was talking about wouldn't play.

The problems seem to vary from person to person (or perhaps player to player) so the exact problem spots vary wildly. You'll have to watch the whole thing to figure out if your copy has problems.
