As someone who fell off Yugioh years ago and bounced off again after playing Master Duel for a bit on release, Chronicles got the ball rolling in a way that ended with me having a deck for the first time in over a decade. So excited to see them doing more with it.

Not really into the TCG lore, but this is cool!

It shouldn't be long before Go Rush ends ( or rather unless they decide to make another arc from out of nowhere ) so I would have prefer if it was the 9th installment rather than a short series but i'm fine with the GX remake too.

It's an upscale of GX not an actual remake. And if the DM upscale was anything to go by it's not going to be very good. I'm hoping these are just stopgaps until a new Rush Duel anime is announced. |

I like it, but it's also frustrating that they don't push it further. The lore behind stuff like the World Chalice set is deep enough alone that they could probably make a neat film out of it and turn it into a fairly solid Yugioh showing. The Solo section on Master Duel could certainly be a lot more than it currently is, but Konami is really holding the app back by keeping it relegated to being a glorified tabletop simulator. It's bananas that I don't even think they've had a Dark Magician Girl "pet" go on sale yet for it - they keep handing out swords and bonfires, but none of their big memorable characters are available at all. Even when you do find a field or pet that's recognisable, they just.... float there.... it's kinda lame, but it could be so much more.
Personally I think it's time for a Yugi Mutou reboot. Pull a Dragonball DAIMA and send him and Joey & friends into the worlds of these promotional shorts, and have them hopping from one universe to the next. You can hook the kids with wild stories, you can grab the nostalgic fans with recogniseable characters, and you'd have a solid platform for showing off newer or more obscure card sets from the real card game while weaving a fresh story. We're on the verge of needing some new form of summoning - it's been a while since Link Monsters got added, and something that lets you merge cards from the Extra Deck based on their total attack/defense value might not be a bad avenue to take the game in the future. Maybe a sort of monster that ONLY is allowed to occupy the Field Spell slot. It's baffling that Konami has some really great potential to work with, but they haven't even given North American audiences much more than the GO! Rush! show - no cards or anything, to my knowledge. |

I completely agree with you—it feels like Konami is sitting on a goldmine and not tapping into its full potential. The World Chalice lore alone could absolutely carry a solid film or deeper story, and the Solo section in Master Duel is such a missed opportunity for more immersive content. A Yugi Mutou reboot hopping through promotional short universes is a brilliant idea—it’d be a perfect blend of nostalgia and fresh storytelling, plus a great way to showcase new card sets and mechanics. Speaking of expanding horizons, it’s a lot like how online dating introduces you to people you’d never encounter otherwise, broadening your experiences significantly. If that piques your curiosity, here’s a helpful link where to find one night stands. Hopefully, Konami realizes this potential and gives fans the engaging content they’re craving!

I've felt for a long time - since the end of 5Ds - that the anime side of the franchise would be better served by delving back into the OG series' implied conceit by Pegasus that the beings in the card game were actually real beings from some other reality, that his Millennium Eye was allowing him to perceive those worlds and put that reality on display through the cards. The GX story, with the Supreme King reality, the concept of some cards representing actual aliens, was something the franchise needed to stick closer to rather than an ever expanding routine of "here's this new hero, with some new play/summon style that has to somehow dog-walk all prior play/summon styles." Every season seems to tease this concept, but then backs away for the "human" alternate reality instead.
Hopefully the popularity of these mini-segments convinces them to change their direction with the anime and focus on building out these stories instead. |

I don't really care about the lore of the cards that much. Rush Duel just introduced Ritual monsters last month so I do hope we get a need proper anime sometime in the future since I've been loving Go Rush so I hope the traditional anime isn't going away for good.

All i want is that these shorts are successful enough going to allow non Japanese to see the Pre-card game era legally. i don't care if it is a remake by Gallop or if it is the original one from TOEI. They could call it something stupid like YuGiOh Origins & i'd still watch it

I doubt they'd ever bother given it wasn't that popular but if they did I'd rather they do a remake because the Toei anime is an awful adaption of the early manga. |
