I admit, I had my doubts that Metaphor would sell well, especially after SEGA claimed that Soul Hackers 2 didn't sell to their expectations, but Metaphor had much more better reviews than SH2, so I think this could become the third pillar Atlus wanted alongsinde Shin Megami Tensei and Persona. Still, we have to remember that most JRPGs initial sales, except for Pokémon, are quite frontloaded, mainly driven by hardcore players and don't tend to have good legs, but perhaps the good word of mouth will help the game, it's just that SEGA and Atlus haven't updated the sales for Persona 3 Reload and I don't think P3R has sold more compared to what Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has sold, but Atlus' games costs less to develop compared to Square-Enix's, so there's that. I'm also interested to see how Metaphor will perform in Japan.

I'd say a good indication of the difference between "From the creator of Persona 5 (Atlus)" and "From the creator of Perona 5 (Katsura Hoshino)". Soul Hackers 2 was okay but felt very unpolished which is a shame since I liked some of the characters in it. I just hope Persona 6 is not another Soul Hackers 2 without Hoshino working on it.

I don't know how things work at Atlus, is Hoshino the person behind Persona 3, 4, 5 and Metaphor? There are developers at Atlus who work on Persona games and others who work on Shin Megami Tensei? Hoshino no longer works at Atlus?
I hope that the next Persona game gets released during this generation, considering how popular the series became after the release of 5 I'm sure the game will be a success, though I hope it'll be a great game, still, some people will inevitably compare it to P5, and maybe P3 and P4. At least it seems SEGA and Atlus have adopted a multiplatform strategy, though maybe Sony would pay for limited exclusivity rights, but after what happened with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth I don't know if that's a wise choice for developers.

Hashino (not Hoshino) is the director of Persona 3-5 and Metaphor, among others.
Atlus currently has three development divisions: R&D1, P-Studio (R&D2), and Studio Zero (R&D3). R&D1 is in charge of SMT, Etrian Odyssey, and others (like Soul Hackers 2); P-Studio made Catherine and has since been all Persona, all the time; Studio Zero did Catherine Full Body, but was primarily established to develop Metaphor.
Hashino has been focused entirely on Studio Zero, and it's been made pretty clear that he's no longer involved with Persona.
