I have to say that I didn't like the ending. spoiler[Everybody ended up living but there wasn't anything that was real exciting about it.] Towards the end of volume 3 was where it got interesting, but after that when spoiler[Mai's brother became the Kokuyou no Kimi, it seemed to me like it was getting cheesy, although in the end when the lead character punched him into his senses then it seemed to get a little corny.] So, with that, I would probably give this one a decent rating, and will see how it's spinoff does.

I've read only volume 1 so far, but it is undoubtedly lesser than the anime. Far from being the best manga I've ever read... It reads like a doujin, like some guy fantasized about Mai-Hime and did a manga with lots of fanservice.
