Studio GoHands are the only people who've made an anime that left me with my eyes hurting from eyestrain after watching an episode, and I get the feeling this show from the preview is also just going to be more of the same. A shame, I liked K but all their works afterwards have just been a pain to watch, literally and figuratively.

LMAO it boggles my mind that GoHands keeps getting work even after the Tokyo Babylon plagiarism incident.

It’s like they set out to make every show look like the aura you see before a migraine. Why is that girl’s hair so tendril-y?

Aside from K (which did become a fairly successful franchise), do any of GoHands' original anime actually have that many fans? Like, at all? Because I honestly find it kind of amazing that they keep making these original series when most of them don't seem to have any significant following from what I can see. Or it may just be because I'm not looking in the right places.

Well, it worked for Sense in Frieren... Wink Do wish they'd loose the pastel gradient filter though, using an unappealing element as "brand id" isn't a good idea. However, I'll say I can look past that (pun intended) and count myself a casual fan of GoHands' latest adaptations and HandShakers. Here's hoping some of the experience doing adaptations wears off onto this "anime original" and not give us another W'd...

kinda amazing they didn't get blacklisted after that. Kenji Yamamoto vanished after he was caught "paying homage" a bit too much on the Dragon Ball scores he did(which was not only in Kai,but also the multiple Dragon Ball games he composed for dating as far as the early 90's). You would think screwing around with a CLAMP property would result in similar consequences.

Unfortunately for them, I suffer from vertigo and migraines. After I attempted to watch one of their fishbowl anime, never again will I watch another Studio GoHands production.

Of course they do, but do you really think many of them would be very public about it online with all the regular peer pressure to regard GoHands as "bad" and "eye-straining"? Anime smile + sweatdrop

As for me, I haven't seen all their works, but I generally enjoy GoHands shows whenever I decide to give them a watch. The overblown negative reputation they've gotten for their unique visual style is totally unwarranted, imo. Though I can understand it not appealing to everyone.

Can't defend them for the plagiat however I enjoyed all their works so far and acutally like their unique aesthetic i get why it might not be pleasant but for someone who watch all the seasonal animes it's interesting to have non-standarized series like the great majority of the anime every year are.

K, at least, had a sense of restraint when it came to the visual choices they make. I'm fine with things like the angled moving shot down the street we see here, for instance. But, the same trailer also has the studios insistence on using CG in a way that makes it immediately distracting from the rest of the shot. CG for moving objects isn't unique to GoHands by any stretch, but add in their use of reflections and colors, and it's basically all I see.

Somebody higher up at the studio must be completely convinced that that sort of stuff looks good because they keep doing it despite the reactions.

The sad thing is I think if it wasn't for their nauseating compositing and plagiarism tendencies they would actually be a pretty competent anime studio. There are many moments in Sukimega and Masterful Cat that were actually pretty nicely animated. I think majority of their problem stems from the fact they do whatever it takes to keep their shows as in-house as possible.

KyoAni and ufotable do too, but their results are a long way from GoHands'.

Well I'm certainly not implying that they would be anywhere near that quality either way, but I do think bringing in other freelancers or studios (especially a separate compositing studio) would go a long way. This might sound harsh but they could benefit a lot from someone else telling them no.
