...On the lists of 2024's most controversial anime, this definitely is high on the betting charts.
That said, I'm avid reader of the novel and currently plowing through the latest English volume, which, if you can believe it, manages to exceed the level of proclivity of one certain person from volume 1 ...

It's a little hard to explain but, the controversy essentially boils down to one specific character, his next door neighbor, a high school girl abused by her family(physical, neglect, sexual assault attempt), who, in the first volume, fantasizes of him while listening to all his activities through the thin walls, fantasies which, for example, include committing murder-suicide with him while in the 'act' and other such stuff. Somehow, the newest volume in English, volume 5, manages to up the ante even further...
But other than that, it's quite a refreshing read of a work if you're looking for something out of the ordinary in light novel space.

Ah ok yea I can understand now why some may find this uncomfortable thanks for the info! From what I’ve seen so far the series looks interesting so I’m willing to give this a try when it premieres.

I wouldn't be surprise if they tone down her scenes but i really hope they don't, she is by far my favorite char in the novel.
