Companies have the ability to fire you at any time, and when they do, they also have the right to keep you from working elsewhere? |
I would agree that non-competes are generally immoral. ANN got rid of it's non-compete a couple years ago for that reason. However when it comes to top executives, owners, etc... especially if they have a good exit compensation package (ie: gardening leave or severance pay), it's a very different story.
Kamiya has plenty of money, his non-compete is not going to cause him any hardship. And at his level, he can still start planning and working on a new project without "working" for a gaming company. You just won't hear him talk about the project till his non-compete expires.

<sigh> You'd think people who work for me* would know the difference between a Lamborghini and a Ferrari (it's a 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition, they're worth about US$500,000 now, but for a long time they were almost worthless)

I think he was intentionally, doing it to himself. Kind of a sarcastic way of saying, "don't worry about me." So the Joanna kept the spirit of that in the article.
*I'm being sarcastic. I have no such expectation.

You sure didn’t mean Devil May Cry 2?
Hell I’m shocked you didn’t take the obligatory swipe at the reboot.

Well it is an ugly looking car even by 1980’s standards.

Some people think FLCL sequels are good, some people prefer FMA 2003 ending to the manga, and some think that 1989 Lamborghini is actually good looking.

I do not support capital punishment, but calling one of the most iconic exotic cars of all time an ugly car is where I draw the line.
I personally have never found the Countach's looks to really match its reputation, but don't tell anyone I said that.
