This is a really weird/interesting pivot for them. Personally I'm a fan of 11 on PS2 and it's very interesting they chose 8 since I don't recall that one being the one most people focus in on for officer-specific story play....
Given that newer ones have had some "one step forward, two steps back" sorts of issues, it is VERY enticing to see what they can to with the framework of one of the older PS2-era titles using the more modern UI and visuals. A lot of the better older Nobunaga's Ambition and RotK titles on PS2 really gave the sense that the devs were trying to cram everything the could into the limited tech at the time. RotK 13 with PUK is the current "standard" for what a full-featured RotK game looks like BUT it has the unfortunate issue that it's prone to crashing and having hardware compatibility issues depending on the sort of system you're running on. |
