Episode 14
It was the calm before the final storm and consisted of a lot of prep and character interactions. Every side seems ready(ish) and the focus on the quincy camp was interesting. I also found Shunsui's visit to inform what might happen to Ichigo surprising and rather fitting. The OP I have some mixed feelings on, in particular the chosen song. |

Episode 15
Besides some awkward transitions between fights, it was a good time. The ending indicated that the stolen bankai may be returned and it seems like those are very much needed. Soi Fon and Hitsugaya did their best, but that was not nearly enough to even slow their opponents down. Also, another season, another weird looking form for Mayuri. |

Episode 16
Welp, things seemed to be going better for a bit, but emphasis on the seemed part. The Bankai are back in action and yet there are now the Vollstandig to compete with. It is a shame that the espada got decimated since their powers could have made things a lot easier. |

Episode 18
So, this week we once again experience the difference between the characters the author likes and does not. Particularly in the case of the (former) vaizards, they will never be anything more than jobbers, with this week having two jobbers for the price of one. The superstar power was also just plain weird in a mostly good way. Congrats to Renji's first win in like......forever? |

Yeah, I'm going back and looking through the manga just to compare any possible changes. He simply put way too many characters in the franchise, and a lot of them barely serve any purpose, if at all. Too bad he didn't take any story-writing hints from Hajime Isayama. Attack on Titan is my go-to franchise on how to handle exceedingly large character rosters; kill some people off, no matter how much or little screentime they get, but still make their sacrifice potentially super-epic and/or meaningful. I'm still gushing over the production and style of T-YBW because it looks so good compared to the original. It's just too bad Kubo isn't making any major improvements to the story. ---------------------------------- Episode 384 (S02E05) (18): Rages at Ringside ---------------------------------- Summary: Pending ---------------------------------- Comments: Pending ---------------------------------- Screen Caps: Last edited by Tony K. on Wed Aug 23, 2023 4:41 pm; edited 3 times in total |

Beautiful episode this week. We had some stellar art and a fight between the ultimate fear and Rukia wielding some very risky abilities. Her bankai in particular seems powerful yet also extremely dangerous to its user. Going a bit too fast and not staying calm would turn her into a permanent popsicle. |

Another great episode, I especially liked the Sternritter, who I give the letter B for bullshit (in a good way) power. That said, imagine if you gave that power to someone like Aizen, it would be the end for everyone. |

Ah yes, this is the episode that starts some of the questionable story bits when it comes to the Thousand Year War arc. It is an amazing adaption so far, but I am curious as to how they will handle some of the issues the manga had story wise. |
