Naoki Urasawa illustrates Original Poster for Manga Barcelona 30th Anniversary

MANGA BARCELONA revealed today the poster for its 30th Anniversary edition, taking place from 5th to 8th December at Fira Barcelona Gran Via. The unique piece presented by Naoki Urasawa features legendary characters that have accompanied the mangaka throughout his career. These can be recognized from Urasawa's major works such as YAWARA!, MONSTER, Happy!, Billy Bat, and 20th Century Boys.

All of them are placed in front of the Sagrada Família, their gazes framing this singular and unrepeatable event. It is a clear reference to the arrival of Naoki Urasawa's entire universe in Barcelona. This personalized artwork celebrates the 30th Anniversary with the genius and artistry of one of the most recognized figures in the world of manga.

Urasawa has become a legend since his debut in 1983. He has created unforgettable stories and extraordinary works, accompanied by an endless list of national and international awards. The Japanese author, born in Tokyo, will set foot in Barcelona for the first time, taking part in the most iconic manga and anime event in recent years—in addition to the renowned anime directors Hiroshi Nagahama and Sunghoo Park, and mangakas already announced, such as Kamome Shirahama, Akasaka Aka, Yokoyari Mengo, Agasawa Kocha, Yuka Fujikawa, Number8, and Shinichi Ishizuka, new names join the lineup: Takeshi Kawaguchi and Yūki Tabata. Kawaguchi will be with us after writing the series Fate/Grand Order: Turas Réalta-, the manga based on the Fate/Grand Order video game. Likewise, Yūki Tabata, the well-known author of the manga and anime Black Clover, will also visit the event.

On the music front, we are welcoming the group PSYCHIC FEVER, winners of the "Next Generation Global" Award in 2022, adding themselves to the already announced line-up: the rock band BURNOUT SYNDROMES and the soloists Maki Otsuki and Coda. Tickets are already on sale.
